Tsunoda haalt uit: "Ik heb geen vertrouwen in de FIA"

Sinds dit seizoen kent de Formule 1 nieuwe wedstrijdleiders. Niels Wittich en Eduardo Freitas volgden begin dit seizoen de weggestuurde Michael Masi op. De nieuwe wedstrijdleiders nemen de belangrijkste rol afwisselend op zich en vooralsnog gaat dat redelijk. Toch komt er steeds meer kritiek op de wedstrijdleiding.

De beslissingen van de wedstrijdleiding in Monaco vielen niet bij iedereen even goed. Daar besloot men Red Bull Racing-coureurs Max Verstappen en Sergio Perez niet te bestraffen na een protest van Ferrari. De twee zouden de gele lijn bij de uitgang van de pits hebben overschreden. Er was onduidelijkheid over dit vergrijp en dit weekend zijn de event notes op dit punt dan ook aangepast.

Inconsistent

Voor dezelfde overtreding waarover Ferrari in beroep ging kreeg Yuki Tsunoda vorig seizoen in Oostenrijk wel een straf. De Japanse AlphaTauri-coureur irriteert zich eraan dat er nu geen straffen volgden. Tsunoda is opvallend fel bij Motorsport.com: "Ik heb geen vertrouwen in de FIA. Elke keer is het enorm inconsistent, ik heb al vier reprimandes gehad. Ik kreeg er ook een in Monaco en ik weet nog steeds niet waarom."

Anders

Tsunoda ergert zich eraan dat andere coureurs wel wegkomen met vaak stevigere vergrijpen. De Japanse coureur vervolgt zijn felle tirade: "Ik mag eigenlijk niets zeggen over andere coureurs, maar er waren er een paar die ergere dingen deden en daar deed men niets mee. In andere Grands Prix was de FIA wel streng. Dus ergens in een andere race zal iemand wel een straf krijgen voor het overschrijden van de lijn. Ik houd mij maar aan de regels, dat is het veiligste. Ik denk nu niet dat omdat Max en Checo het deden, dat het nu mag. Elke keer is het wat anders."

Yuki heeft hier volkomen gelijk. Hij heeft bv 2 keer een reprimande ontvangen, omdat hij iemand hinderde in een VT. Hij kon die coureurs niet aan zien komen en zijn engineer had hem niet gewaarschuwd. Toen Hamilton hetzelfde overkwam kreeg hij geen reprimande, maar moest zijn team een geldboete ... [Lees verder]

Niet handig om te zeggen als je bijna een gridstraf van 10 plekken krijgt aan reprimandes.

  Hij is toch al niet het slimste jongetje van de klas als je het mij vraagt, maar hij heeft ook (nog steeds) nogal een gefrustreerd temperament.
  Hij laat het niet zien, maakt nog steeds domme fouten, en dan krijg je dit... ook al heeft 'ie misschien wel gelijk.

Yuki moet eens wat laten zien, en niet lope3n zeiken, anders kan het wel eens exit zijn eind 2022.

En zo zijn er nog een paar voorbeelden.
  De stewards bestraffen zeer inconsequent en mag hij daar niets van zeggen omdat jij vindt dat hij eens wat moet laten zien?!
  Hij heeft anders een stuk beter gepresteerd dan Gasly dit seizoen!
  Niet naar de GP weekenden gekeken?

  Ik vindt ze beiden heel slecht rijden, als het daar om gaat, Yuki daar was gewoon veel meer van verwacht.
  
  Maar dat zit er niet in, en zal ook een exit gaan worden, schrijf het maar alvast op @Pietje.

  Daarnaast maakt het niet uit of een coureur goed of slecht presteert (dat is een totaal ander onderwerp!), de stewards moeten gelijke straffen uitdelen.
  En dus heeft Tsunoda ook gelijk...

Yuki begrijpt heel slecht Engels. Wat hij weet heeft hij opgepikt van zijn engineers....
Dat hij vorig jaar straf kreeg en Max en Perez niet is omdat in 2021 de regels anders waren dan nu in 2022.
