Latifi klaar met vragen: "Ik weet zeker dat ik het seizoen afmaak"

Williams-coureur Nicholas Latifi rijdt dit weekend zijn thuisrace in Montreal. Voor zijn eigen publiek wil de Canadees schitteren maar het kan zomaar zo zijn dat het zijn laatste thuisrace is. Latifi zit namelijk op de schopstoel en Alpine zou bereid zijn om supertalent Oscar Piastri uit te lenen aan Williams.

Vooralsnog zit Latifi nog in de cockpit bij het team van Williams. De Canadees staat onder druk, iets waar hij zelf ook bewust van is. Er gaan zelfs verhalen dan Latifi dit weekend voor het laatst in actie komt voor Williams, Piastri zou hem daarna kunnen vervangen. Tevens kan het zo zijn dat Latifi het seizoen afmaakt maar wel bezig is met zijn laatste seizoen.

Latifi zelf denkt dat hij ook over twee weken nog actief zal zijn in de Formule 1. De Canadees vertrouwt erop dat hij zijn contract gewoon mag uitdienen. Tegenover het Franse Auto Hebdo spreekt hij zich uit: "Ik weet zeker dat ik tot het einde van het seizoen zal rijden. Ik heb ook niet veel meer om daaraan toe te voegen. Ik weet natuurlijk dat ik mijn performance moet verbeteren. Ik ben vanzelfsprekend niet blij maar ik ben druk bezig om mijzelf te verbeteren."
