Albon krijgt in Silverstone de beschikking over geüpdatete bolide

Het team van Williams wil aankomend weekend presteren voor het thuispubliek in Silverstone. Het Britse team is bezig met een matig seizoen en dat wil men in de Britse Grand Prix rechtzetten. Ze volgen dan ook het pad van een aantal andere teams, zo komen namelijk met updates naar Silverstone.

Het Britse team heeft dit jaar nog maar weinig updates geïntroduceerd. In SIlverstone zal dit echter anders zijn en krijgt Alexander Albon de beschikking over de nieuwe onderdelen. Dat betekent dus dat tweede coureur Nicholas Latifi nog eventjes moet wachten voordat hij ook mag rijden met de geüpdatete FW44. Albon is dan ook de Williams-coureur die dit seizoen al punten heeft gescoord.

Williams geeft eerlijk toe dat Albon dit weekend de beschikking krijgt over de nieuwe onderdelen. Head of Vehicle Performance Dave Robson wordt geciteerd door Motorsportweek: "We hebben een geüpdatet aeropakket voor dit weekend. Dit zal alleen op de auto van Alex zitten om te kijken hoe het zich gedraagt en of het werkt zoals we hadden gehoopt. Het bodywork en de vloer vormen de basis van de upgrade en ze moeten ervoor zorgen dat de downforce van de auto vooruit gaat."
