Meer ruimte voor teams bij betrouwbaarheidsproblemen

Gisteren vond in Parijs de tweede meeting van het World Motor Sport Council plaats. Tijdens deze vergadering van het belangrijke orgaan van autosportfederatie FIA werden enkele belangrijke beslissingen genomen. Men heeft enkele tussentijdse regelwijzingen voor het huidige Formule 1-seizoen goedgekeurd tijdens de vergadering. FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem en vicepresident Robert Reid waren de voorzitters van de vergadering.

De meest opvallende tussentijdse regelwijzingen vinden plaats op het gebied van het verbeteren van de betrouwbaarheid. Teams mogen vanaf nu namelijk onder parc fermé-omstandigheden motoronderdelen vervangen voor nieuwere exemplaren uit de pool. Eerder was het zo dat een coureur die nieuwe motoronderdelen had ontvangen onder parc fermé-omstandigheden uit de pitlane moest starten.

Persconferenties

Het World Motor Sport Council heeft daarnaast nog meer beslissingen genomen. Tijdens de vergadering is besloten dat de persconferenties voorafgaand het Grand Prix-weekend weer op de donderdag plaatsvindt. Ook zijn de regels omtrent het aanpassen van de auto's tijdens bandentests aangescherpt. Ook zijn de regels omtrent de spiegels aangepast zodat de coureurs meer kunnen zien. Ook zijn de regels omtrent het opwarmen van de brandstof aangepast na problemen bij enkele teams.

2026

Ook werden de nieuwe motorreglementen voor 2026 besproken. Er zijn nog geen definitieve knopen doorgehakt en de stemming over de nieuwe regels is uitgesteld. Het is de hoop van het World Motor Sport Council dat deze wel af zijn voor de volgende bijeenkomst. De FIA heeft hiervoor overleg gepleegd met de Formule 1, de huidige motorleveranciers in de sport en mogelijke nieuwe motorleveranciers. Daarmee duidt men dus op Volkswagen Group-merken Audi en Porsche.

Temperatuur van de brandstof was al langer een heikel punt (dat hier precies toch wat onder de radar zat) - goed wel dat dit wordt aangepakt! Het gefoefel tijdens de bandentests is gelijk ook van naderbij bekeken - je merkt dat de technische afdeling van de FIA hoewel soms traag, maar zeker zijn werk verricht.

  De FIA snapt natuurlijk ook steeds beter hoe ze bij de neus genomen worden door de teams. Vind ook dat ze de goede dingen adresseren en dat ze af en toe achter de muziek aan lopen is logisch.
  
  Dat vervangen onder parc fermee is natuurlijk wel binnen de onderdelen die al in de 'pool' zitten, dus bewegingsruimte is niet super groot.

  @SE, als je de FIA s i t e goed leest, zie je dat daar heel iets anders staat.
  Men mag nl een compleet nieuwe geupdate PU inbouwen!

  @Pietje: het lijkt mij dat de beperking van het maximaal aantal te gebruiken PU-onderdelen niet is gewijzigd, dus de grootte van de pool blijft ongewijzigd mijns inziens. Slechts de parc-fermé regels dat er niet meer aan de auto mag worden gesleuteld zijn gewijzigd voor de PU.
  
  Verstappen mag na de kwalificatie dus een nieuwe PU met een nieuwere specificatie erin zetten zonder dat hij straf krijgt. Dit omdat hij nog niet alle PU's heeft gebruikt. Als Leclerc er een nieuwe inzet, dan moet hij zijn 'pool' uitbreiden met nieuwe motoren, waarvoor hij dus wel een straf krijgt. Maar hij krijgt geen straf voor het wisselen onder Parc Fermé, wel voor het gebruiken van een PU boven het maximaal toegestane aantal.

  Het klopt wat je zegt @SE, maar ik reageerde op jouw zin: "Dat vervangen onder parc fermee is natuurlijk wel BINNEN de onderdelen die al in de 'pool' zitten."
  
  Dat klopt dus niet. Die nieuwe PU zit nl nog niet in de pool, die wordt er op dat moment pas aan toegevoegd, al dan niet met een gridstraf.
