Zege Sainz zorgt voor opvallende statistiek over Formule 1-startveld

Carlos Sainz won afgelopen weekend in Silverstone zijn eerste Grand Prix uit zijn loopbaan. De zege van Sainz zorgde voor veel vreugde bij de Spanjaard zelf en het team van Ferrari. Eveneens zorgde zijn zege voor een aantal opvallende statistieken. Zo is hij de tweede Spaanse racewinnaar ooit en deed hij er zeer lang over om een race te winnen.

Toch is een andere statistiek zeer opmerkelijk. Dankzij de zege van Sainz hebben nu namelijk elf coureurs van het huidige Formule 1-veld minimaal één zege op hun naam staan. Meer dan de helft van de coureurs zijn dus Grand Prix-winnaars, wat dus ook betekent dat er een opvallend competitief veld aan de start staat.

Naast Sainz zijn Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Sergio Perez, Valtteri Bottas, Pierre Gasly, Sebastian Vettel, Charles Leclerc, Esteban Ocon en Daniel Ricciardo de andere racewinnaars van het huidige veld.
