Ook Stevens tevreden na McLaren-test in Portimao

Het team van McLaren werkte deze week een driedaagse test af op het circuit van Portimao. De Britse renstal reed daar met de auto van vorig seizoen, dat mag aangezien de technische regels dit seizoen compleet verschillend zijn vergeleken met vorig jaar. Twee coureurs kwamen in actie.

De veelbesproken Indycar-coureur Colton Herta kroop in de cockpit met het oog op de mogelijkheid voor een vrije training verderop in het seizoen. Ook voormalig Manor-coureur Will Stevens zat achter het stuur. Aangezien Stevens niet meer als rookie geldt was zijn test meer gericht op zijn ontwikkelingswerk. De Brit is de ontwikkelingscoureurs van het team en verricht veel werk in de simulator. Stevens nam de woensdag voor zijn rekening en gaf aan te hebben genoten en dat dit hem kan helpen voor zijn rol als simulatorcoureur.
