Gasly ziet progressie: "Het is geweldig om dit pakket te hebben in thuisrace"

AlphaTauri-coureur Pierre Gasly is blij met de meegenomen updates naar Frankrijk en merkt dat gelijk aan de presentaties op het 5.8 kilometerlange circuit van Paul Ricard.

"Het is duidelijk dat we qua prestaties terug in de top tien stonden met de vijfde plaats vanmorgen en de zevende vanmiddag", aldus Gasly. “Het gevoel in de manier waarop de auto zich gedroeg, toonde veel positieve signalen met de nieuwe onderdelen die we dit weekend hebben meegebracht."

Dat de goede resultaten werden behaald in zijn eigen land geeft een extra boost voor de eenmalig GP-winnaar. "Het is geweldig om dit pakket te hebben voor mijn thuisrace en om alle mensen op de baan te zien. Nu moeten we werken om te begrijpen wat we vandaag hebben getest en alle gegevens doornemen om het morgen samen te stellen voor de kwalificatie."

“De manier waarop de voorkant reageert is scherper en reactiever, vooral in deze langere bochten waar we de banden vaak oververhitten. De banden zijn nog steeds oververhit, waar we voor de race aan zullen moeten werken, maar het moet een leuke worden."
