Schumacher wil met FIA-stewards praten vanwege track limits

Mick Schumacher zegt dat hij van plan is om met de FIA-stewards te praten over het overschrijden van de track limits, waardoor hij in Q1 van de kwalificatie voor de Franse Grand Prix afviel. De Haas F1-coureur leek oorspronkelijk een plaats in Q2 te hebben veiliggesteld totdat zijn snelste tijd werd geschrapt. Herhalingen toonden aan dat Schumacher de binnenkant van bocht drie had afgesneden.

Schumacher was verrast om zijn rondetijd te verliezen omdat hij in die bocht de baan verliet. "Het was jammer, want ik denk dat we de snelheid hadden om naar Q3 te gaan. Het is iets om waarschijnlijk met de stewards en de racedirecteur te bespreken om dit echt te begrijpen. Ik moet uiteindelijk iets van een millimeter geweest zijn."

Hij verwacht echter niets dat zijn uitgangspositie zou kunnen verbeteren. "Als ze nu de beslissing hebben genomen, is er geen reden om erover te gaan praten, want ze zullen toch niet veel veranderen", zo zei hij vlak na de kwalificatie. "Het is wel frustrerend, maar aan de andere kant zullen we er ook niet bij stilstaan. We moeten ons focussen op morgen en proberen ons een weg te banen door het veld en proberen wat punten te scoren."

Na penalty's voor zijn teamgenoot en Carlos Sainz start Schumacher momenteel als 17e. Hij verwacht dat het mogelijk zal zijn om plaatsen in de race goed te maken. "De DRS-delta is behoorlijk groot, dus we zouden in staat moeten zijn om in te halen als we eenmaal in de DRS-zone rijden. Hoe de banden het gaan overleven, dat zullen we morgen moeten zien."

Hij voorspelde dat het behoorlijk moeilijk zal worden om de banden niet te veel te laten slijten in de hete omstandigheden die morgen op het circuit worden voorspeld.

Tsja, als je de bocht afsnijdt is dit het risico.
Kun je wel willen gaan praten maar dat heeft weinig zin denk ik. Gezien ook de straffen vorige race

  Precies, racen doe je binnen de lijnen. In Monaco hoor je ook geen enkele coureur zeuren over de track limits.

Het valt op dat hij de enige is.
De heren weten plots wel waar de witte lijnen liggen.
Niet de consistentie die ze voor ogen hadden, en ook nog eens zonder grindbakken.

Als je het hebt over een mm heb de beelden dus niet eens teruggezien. Het was zeker 10 cm. Altijd handig om eerst de beelden terug te kijken. Zo voorkom je dat je compleet voor schut staat.

Ze moeten gewoon iedereen straffen die buiten de witte lijnen komt, dan is het gauw over de heren, het is uiteraard nooit snel genoeg.

De regels zijn voor iedereen hetzelfde.
