Coulthard zet TT Circuit Assen op stelten met spectaculaire demo

Dertienvoudig Grand Prix-winnaar David Coulthard heeft ook zijn tweede bezoek aan het TT Circuit Assen niet zonder het nodige spektakel besloten. De inmiddels 50-jarige coureur, ambassadeur van Red Bull Racing, mocht op het razendsnelle asfaltlint op de Drentse heide de RB8 uit Red Bulls kampioensjaar 2012 de sporen geven. Ruim 70.000 toeschouwers waren getuige van de demonstratierun, die werd georganiseerd in het teken van de Jack's Racing Days.

Naast Coulthard was er in persoon van Jeroen Bleekemolen nog een autosportveteraan te bewonderen in de Drentse hoofdstad. De veelzijdige Bleekemolen stuurde bekende Nederlanders en gelukkige prijswinnaars in het rond in de tweezitter, gerund door MP Motorsport. Onder toeziend oog van niemand minder dan MP-teambaas Sander Dorsman, die in de Formule 2 met coureur Felipe Drugovich achter het stuur op jacht is naar de zeer prestigieuze rijderstitel, werden onder meer YouTube-ster Gio Latooy en wielerdame Puck Moonen getrakteerd op een aantal ronden over het TT Circuit.

Aan entertainment was, zoals vanouds, dankzij het team van promotor Lee van Dam, geen gebrek. Tim Coronel stuurde een Dakar-bolide in het rond en nam de nodige tijd om met alle fans op de foto te gaan, waar de herkenbare tweekoppige Dakar-truck van Jan de Rooij het massaal toegestroomde publiek in vervoering bracht.

Voor de eerste keer sinds 2019 mocht het TT Circuit Assen in samenwerking met LDP International de welbekende Racing Days voor volle tribunes, zonder enige restricties, organiseren. Promotor Van Dam sprak van 'een zeer geslaagd weekend'.
