FOM dacht aan animatieserie over de Formule 1

De populariteit van de Formule 1 is in de afgelopen jaren flink gegroeid. De sport heeft er vooral veel nieuwe fans bij gekregen in de Verenigde Staten. Deze groei komt mede door de succesvolle Netflix-reeks 'Drive to Survive'. Het Formula One Management heeft nog meer mogelijkheden bekeken in de afgelopen jaren.

De Netflix-reeks geeft fans een kijkje achter de schermen van de koningsklasse van de autosport. In de afgelopen jaren was er ook veel kritiek op de serie, de makers gaan namelijk nogal creatief om met de werkelijkheid. Desalniettemin is de serie één van de redenen van de groeiende populariteit van de sport.

Animatie

De FOM heeft ook nagedacht over andere series over de Formule 1. Mediadirecteur Ian Holmes sprak zich erover uit tijdens het Blackbook Motorsport Forum in Londen: "We willen dat mensen betrokken raken bij onze sport op de manier zoals ze dat zelf willen. We willen een zo'n breed mogelijk aanbod bieden. Drive to Survive is daar een belangrijk onderdeel van. We willen bijvoorbeeld ook kinderen bereiken. We willen een animatieserie maken. We willen iets doen met reizen of wat dan ook. Het moet wel een link hebben met de Formule 1."

Raakvlakken

Holmes wil het liefst zoveel mogelijk fans over de hele wereld bereiken. De kans is dan ook groot dat de sport met nog meer vormen van content gaat komen: "Maar we willen vooral zoveel mogelijk raakvlakken met de sport. We moeten dat vanuit een inhoudelijk oogpunt uitdragen, naast en rondom Drive to Survive. We moeten in contact komen met de fans die daar vandaan komen."

    Met Bernie Ecclestone als Dagobert Duck, Lewis Hamilton als Guus Geluk, Toto Wolff als Buurman Bolderbast, Ricciardo en Norris als Knabbel en Babbel, en Adrian Newey als Willy Wortel.

      Nou. Daar zijn best leuke afleveringen van te maken. Spy gate, McLaren twitter leak. Ferrari motor gate. Hamilton kraan incident (briljant bedacht van Hamilton. kan niet anders zeggen.)
      Zijn er een hele reeks onderwerpen. Geeft goede inzichten. Alleen.... Denk niet dat ze daar een tekenfilm van willen maken.

      De FOM heeft tante Agaath uit Warmetuut ook al benaderd om na elke GP het podium te kantklossen.

      Holmes: "De 75-plussers zien wij als een vergeten doelgroep en zeker nu mensen steeds ouder worden vormt deze aanzwengelende groep een waardevolle investering in de optiek van de FOM om bij de Formule 1 te betrekken."

      Tante Agaath is op zich positief over het voorstel maar wil het uiteraard eerst nog met DJ Ome Joop overleggen...

      .Die animatie film op F1 op basis van de radioboodschappen vond/vind ik maar niks.

      Voor de rest sluit ik me aan bij Tylar - die van McLaren was gewoon geweldig en zelfs nu en dan met wat zelfspot. Jammer dat ze daarmee zijn gestopt. Als de FOM dit over de volledige grid zouden doen zou dat wel mooi zijn als extra humoristische toets.

    Een heel leuke anime over racen was er al, initial d. En volgend jaar komt er een opvolger Mf Ghost. Beste manga die ik over racen ooit heb gelezen was Capeta, over een knul die vanuit de Karts opklimt naar de Japanse F3 en de Formule Nippon/ super Formula. Was ook een anime van maar die stopte vrij snel
