Gasly bereikt in België opvallende mijlpaal

Pierre Gasly bereikt dit weekend in België een opvallende mijlpaal. De Franse AlphaTauri-coureur rijdt vandaag, als alles goed gaat, namelijk zijn honderdste Grand Prix. De nog maar 26-jarige Gasly voegt zich daarmee bij een selecte groep coureurs die deze mijlpaal hebben bereikt.

Gasly debuteerde in 2017 in de Formule 1 bij het team van Toro Rosso. De Fransman is al geruime tijd verbonden aan Red Bull en het was dan ook niet vreemd dat hij voor de Grand Prix van Maleisië werd opgeroepen als vervanger van Daniil Kvyat. Hij moest de Amerikaanse Grand Prix dat jaar aan zich voorbij laten gaan en reed in 2018 voor het eerst een volledig seizoen in de Formule 1.

In 2019 reed hij voor een half seizoen voor het grote Red Bull Racing voordat hij weer terug werd geplaatst naar Toro Rosso. In Brazilië eindigde hij voor het eerst op het podium. Een jaar later, Toro Rosso heette inmiddels AlphaTauri, won Gasly zijn eerste Grand Prix op Monza. In 2021 pakte hij zijn derde podium door als derde te finishen in Azerbeidzjan.

Als je een middenmotor bent dan is dit op zich toch niet zo speciaal? Je rijd 5 seizoenen en je hebt er al 100 + tegenwoordig.

  Voor Red Bull-hotshot Albon moest er een stoeltje bij Williams worden gekocht, anders zou hij de helft amper hebben gehaald.
