Officieel: Spa-Francorchamps ook in 2023 op Formule 1-kalender

Het was lang onzeker maar nu heeft het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps duidelijkheid gekregen van de organisatie van de Formule 1. De Belgische Grand Prix staat ook volgend seizoen op de Formule 1-kalender, zo maakte de Formule 1 zojuist bekend. Vandaag wordt de Belgische Grand Prix verreden, het is dus niet de laatste Grand Prix op Spa.

De toekomst van de Grand Prix op het iconische circuit in de Ardennen hing in de afgelopen weken aan een zijden draadje. De organisatie van de Grand Prix beschikte over een aflopend contract en het leek erop dat de race van de kalender zou gaan verdwijnen. De Grand Prix van Zuid-Afrika stond op pole position als vervanger van Spa maar deze deal is voor aankomend seizoen dus vermoedelijk niet rond gekomen.

Maar blij dat deze blijft.

      Ik ook blij maar voelt nog steeds alsof het maar een jaartje uitstel is. Ik lees niets over een nieuw contract voor een aantal jaren. Naja, we gaan het volgend jaar wel zien. Doodzonde als Spa van de kalender verdwijnt. Dit iconische circuit waar doorgaans elke coureur fan van is mag niet verdwijnen in de F1.

      Mooiste, beste en stoerste circuit met een serieuze historische waarde van de F1.
      Helaas ook het circuit dat al decennia haar budget niet voor elkaar krijgt en door de lokale politiek financieel bijgestaan moet worden.
      F1 hosten wordt alleen maar duurder dus het is niet vreemd dat het een keertje stopt.
      Maar goed, nog een extra jaartje erbij.
      Van mij mogen ze voor.altijd een vaste waarde zijn voor de komende kalenders.

      Dat deze race ter discussie stond wil alleen maar zeggen dat de top van de huidige F1 er nog maar weinig verstand van heeft.. ALLES gaat om knaken!! En dan denkt marketing het interessant te maken door er 35 DJ's neer te ploffen, of met een paar grote artiesten uit te pakken .. Zo maak je een weekend misschien populair maar niet de sport.
      F1 had alles om populair te blijven, al 70 jaren lang!! (laten we de dominantie van Lewis en Michael even niet meerekenen) Ik kijk zelf al sinds eind jaren 70, mijn pa volgde Fangio indertijd en kijkt nog steeds elke race.

    Helaas nog steeds alleen bevestigd voor komend jaar. Dit circuit moet een vaste plek op de kalender houden voor nog heel veel jaren.
