Tsunoda ontvangt gridstraf na teveel reprimandes

Yuki Tsunoda is de volgende coureur die dit weekend een gridstraf ontvangt. Echter wisselt de Japanse AlphaTauri-coureur geen motoronderdelen voor zijn gridstraf van tien plaatsen. De straf van Tsunoda is een gevolg van een regel die zelden moet worden uitgevoerd, de Japanner heeft namelijk te veel reprimandes bij elkaar gereden.

Afgelopen weekend in Zandvoort ontving Tsunoda zijn vijfde reprimande van het jaar, het was zijn eerste 'non-driving' reprimande van het seizoen. De overige vier reprimandes vallen wel onder de noemer van 'driving' reprimandes. Volgens de sportieve reglementen ontvangt een coureur met vijf reprimandes een gridstraf. Deze regel wordt zelden tot nooit toegepast maar Tsunoda krijgt nu deze twijfelachtige eer.
