Nieuwe teams geen prioriteit voor Domenicali

Het is algemeen bekend dat er veel interesse is in de Formule 1 vanuit mogelijke nieuwe renstallen. Veruit de meest vocale mogelijke nieuwe renstal is het team van Andretti. De Amerikaanse racefamilie wil de sport zeer graag betreden maar in de Formule 1 is men niet razend enthousiast. Ook Stefano Domenicali vindt een nieuw team niet nodig.

Het team van Andretti hint al geruime tijd op een stap naar de koningsklasse van de autosport. Het project onder leiding van oud-coureur Michael Andretti beweert de entry fee van 200 miljoen dollar te kunnen betalen en dat de plannen al veel verder zijn dan de kinderschoenen. Toch houdt de Formule 1 zelf de boot af.

Balans

Formule 1-CEO Stefano Domenicali is immers geen voorstander van nieuwe teams. De Italiaan denkt dat het goed gaat met de sport en hij is er duidelijk over tegenover Sky Sports: "Je moet altijd gebalanceerd blijven. Je moet alle dingen op tafel bekijken. Je kan meer coureurs hebben maar aan het einde van de dag is er altijd een limiet. Als je er 1 of 2 toevoegt heb je misschien meer stoeltjes. Maar we moeten ook weten wat succesvol is voor de sport."

Prioriteit

Domenicali is dus van mening dat de sport momenteel zeer succesvol is. De Italiaan denkt dat het belangrijk is om gezonde teams op de grid te hebben en is duidelijk over onder andere de Andretti-verhalen: "Ik denk dat er moet worden gekeken naar de duurzaamheid van het team en of het niet te druk wordt. Dus ik zou zeggen dat het toevoegen van nieuw teams geen prioriteit is voor de Formule 1 vandaag de dag."

  De Amerikanen willen wel hoor, hoe meer spektakel hoe liever. Maar de huidige teams willen niet, ze vangen dan minder geld uit de pot.

Deze man lijkt echt niet te snappen wat goed is voor de sport. Meer stoeltjes zou juist prioriteit nummer 1 moeten zijn en zijn idee van punten uitdelen voor elk wissewasje zou meteen in de prullenbak moeten verdwijnen. Ongelooflijk wat een onkunde.

Ik vind dit toch best bijzonder dat er meer races in de VS moeten worden verreden en er dan geen Amerikaans team welkom is. Hoe kan hij nu zeggen dat dit niet succesvol is voor de sport?? Op dit moment zijn er te weinig stoeltjes en een team meer zorgt voor 2 stoeltjes, daarnaast zal ook weer nieuwe sponsoren met zich meebrengen en is het uiteindelijk in mijn ogen alleen maar beter. Maar in dit geval is het probleem dat de andere teams dit niet willen en dat ze de inkomsten moeten delen met weer een team. De sport is succesvol vanwege afgelopen jaar, want toen was er een spannende strijd. Voor de rest was de sport niet echt geweldig en ook de Fia is hier debet aan.

De omhooggevallen parasiet van de F1 wordt steeds arroganter, wie denkt die Domenicali wel niet helemaal dat ie is? Als CEO van de F1 zou hij juist alles moeten doen om de RACEsport te bevorderen, maar de 'lintworm' ziet het als een (Amerikaans) circus waarbij het alleen om de business gaat.

(kan me er zo kwaad over maken hè, gelukkig kan ik me goed beheersen)
