Zhou kijkt uit naar Singapore-debuut: "Komen vrienden en familie op bezoek"

Guanyu Zhou heeft een aantal goede dagen achter de rug. De Chinese Alfa Romeo-coureur verlengde zijn contract tot en met 2023 en hij leeft met veel vertrouwen toe naar de aankomende Grand Prix van Singapore. De race in de Aziatische stadsstaat wordt zeer bijzonder voor Zhou.

Aangezien de Chinese Grand Prix ook dit seizoen ontbreekt vanwege de coronapandemie is de Grand Prix van Singapore voor Zhou een bijna-thuisrace. Singapore ligt geografisch gezien het dichtstbij China en Zhou kijkt dan ook uit naar de race van aankomende zondag. Het is tevens zijn eerste race op het verraderlijke stratencircuit in de stadstaat.

Zhou kijkt dan ook reikhalzend uit naar het aankomende weekend, tevens de start van de double-header op het Aziatische continent. In een persbericht van Alfa Romeo spreekt hij zich erover uit: "Dit is tot nu toe een enorm goede week met het nieuws van mijn contractverlenging. Ik kijk ook heel erg uit naar de race in Singapore. Het is de race die het dichtstbij mijn thuisland ligt dit jaar. Ik zal hier veel vrienden en familie op bezoek hebben die mij gaan steunen."
