Sainz hoopt op zege voor einde seizoen: "Kan ons motivatie geven voor volgend seizoen"

Het team van Ferrari lijkt dit seizoen genoegen te moeten nemen met de tweede plaats. De Italiaanse renstal staat in het constructeurskampioenschap ver achter op Red Bull Racing. Bij de coureurs gaat de wereldtitel zo goed als zeker naar Max Verstappen. Carlos Sainz wil het huidige seizoen echter niet opgeven.

Ferrari begon zeer sterk aan het huidige seizoen. Al snel draaide Red Bull de zaakjes om en kreeg Ferrari te maken met meerdere problemen. Al snel werd duidelijk dat Verstappen dit seizoen een klasse apart is. Bij Ferrari heeft men de focus dan ook weerlegd naar het aankomende seizoen. Men wil leren van de fouten van dit jaar.

Interessant

Ook Ferrari-coureur Carlos Sainz wil het huidige seizoen dan ook niet opgeven. De Spanjaard blijft jagen op successen en spreekt zich erover uit bij Motorsport.com: "Ik denk dat het voor ons een interessant gevecht is. Ons doel als team is vanzelfsprekend om races te winnen en ons voor te bereiden op volgend jaar. De eerste plek is dit seizoen overduidelijk te lastig in beide kampioenschappen. We focussen ons dus op zeges."

Motivatie

Sainz won dit seizoen al in Silverstone maar moest verder genoegen nemen met een aardige hoeveelheid podiumplaatsen. De Spanjaard denkt echter dat een zege in 2022 positieve gevolgen heeft voor Ferrari in 2023: "Ik denk dat het winnen van een race voor het einde van het seizoen ons veel motivatie en goede gevoelens kan geven voor volgend seizoen. Dit omdat we al eventjes niet meer hebben gewonnen."

Vorige week liet je het wel behoorlijk varen in tempo, dat kan beter mon ami.

Misschien leest ie wel mee net zoals Russel dat hier doet hè. Je weet nooit.
