Ferrari-pupil Dino Beganovic werd FRECA-kampioen van het seizoen 2022. Het was genoeg voor de Zweedse coureur om de race op de vierde plaats te eindigen voor het meenemen van de titel.

"Ik denk dat het vorig jaar allemaal begon toen we aan dit seizoen begonnen te werken, waarin we erin slaagden om de teamtitel te winnen en nu de titel van de coureur", zei Beganovic na afloop.

"De start van het seizoen was geweldig voor mij en bracht me indrukwekkende resultaten en belangrijke overwinningen zoals die in Monaco, die een speciale betekenis hadden."

"We hadden ups en downs in de rest van het seizoen, maar we zijn erin geslaagd om het te halen met nog één race te gaan. Ik ben erg blij en ik wil het hele Prema-team bedanken dat uitstekend werk heeft geleverd, de Ferrari Driver Academy met wie ik hard heb gewerkt om me voor te bereiden op elke race, mijn familie, mijn vrienden en iedereen die in mij geloofde", sloot de Zweed dankbaar af.

Wat is FRECA?

FRECA staat voor Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. Het is de officiële vierde tree van de Road to F1-ladder, die zich perfect positioneert na de F4 en vóór de F3.

Door ACI Sport Formula Regional en Formula Renault Eurocup te combineren, was het idee om een competitief kampioenschap te creëren voor jonge talenten uit de nationale F4-categorieën over de hele wereld, zoals de Duitse, Italiaanse of Braziliaanse.

Auto's die zijn ontworpen volgens de F3-veiligheidsnormen, is het Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine een stap voorwaarts van de F4.
