AlphaTauri-coureurs moeten oppassen voor schorsing

In de Formule 1 werkt men met een strafpuntensysteem. Als een coureur twaalf strafpunten op zijn superlicentie bij elkaar heeft gereden, dan volgt een schorsing. Er is nog nooit een Formule 1-coureur geschorst volgens dit systeem maar een aantal coureurs zijn momenteel akelig dichtbij.

AlphaTauri-coureurs Pierre Gasly en Yuki Tsunoda zijn momenteel de onbetwiste koplopers in het dubieuze strafpuntenklassement. Gasly incasseerde dit weekend twee strafpunten in Austin omdat hij teveel afstand liet op zijn voorganger tijdens de Safety Car-periode. De Fransman staat nu op een totaal van negen strafpunten, in de laatste drie races moet hij nu dus op zijn tellen gaan passen.

Tsunoda

Tsunoda staat momenteel op de tweede plaats in het strafpuntenklassement. De Japanse AlphaTauri-coureur staat op acht strafpunten en moet dus ook op gaan letten. Alexander Albon maakt de top drie in het pijnlijke klassement compleet, de Thaise Williams-coureur staat op zeven strafpunten. Hij moet echter blijven opletten want zijn eerste twee strafpunten verlopen pas eind maart volgend jaar.

Veilige haven

Na Gasly, Tsunoda en Albon volgt een viertal coureurs met vijf strafpunten. Het gaat hier om wereldkampioen Max Verstappen, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon en Nicholas Latifi. Er is tevens een grote lijst van coureurs die nog geen enkel strafpunt op hun superlicentie hebben staan. Het gaat hier om Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz en invallers Nico Hülkenberg en Nyck de Vries.

  Klagen over veiligheid dan moet je zelf wel het juiste voorbeeld geven.

Alpha Tauri is trouwens wel enorm afgezakt dit seizoen..schrok er van toen ik gisteren zag dat ze 9e staan in het wk :(

Er wordt niet bij vermeld dat alle 5 de strafpunten van Verstappen nog dit jaar komen te vervallen:
21-11-2022 -> 2 punten
5-12-2022 -> 1 punt
5-12-2022 -> 2 punten

Van Tsunoda komen er dit jaar nog 4 te vervallen tot en met 5 december
Van Gasly vervallen de eerste punten op 22 mei 2023
Van Albon vervallen de eerste punten op 6 maart 2023

Van de overige coureurs met 5 strafpunten vervallen de punten pas volgend seizoen.
