Brad Pitt stuurt Martin Brundle bericht na veelbesproken gridwalk-moment

De gridwalk van Martin Brundle is al jaren een bekend fenomeen onder de vaste volgers van de Formule 1. Ook afgelopen weekend in Austin voltooide Brundle weer een gridwalk. Ditmaal probeerde hij de aanwezige filmster Brad Pitt te interviewen, de acteur wimpelde Brundle op pijnlijke wijze af maar heeft nu zijn excuses aangeboden.

Voormalig coureur en huidige Sky Sports-commentator Martin Brundle verricht al velen jaren een gridwalk voorafgaand de meeste Grands Prix. De Brit spreekt dan op de grid met de aanwezige coureurs, kopstukken en beroemdheden. Pitt was in Austin aanwezig om research te doen voor zijn Formule 1-film, toen Brundle hem een vraag wilde stellen liep Pitt echter door en gaf hij slechts een gehaast antwoord.

Veel Formule 1-fans ergerden zich aan het moment. Brundle zelf gaf aan dat Pitt hem niet te woord hoeft te staan. De acteur heeft het nieuws zelf ook meegekregen en stuurde Brundle en bericht. Brundle maakte het nieuws zelf bekend op Twitter en noemde het onnodig maar aardig. De Britse commentator benadrukte nogmaals dat niemand verplicht is om met hem te praten tijdens de gridwalk.

      Waarom zou dit verplicht zijn? Je bent daar helemaal niet voor de journalisten. Journalisten zijn juist degenen die gegund wordt daar te mogen lopen. Zeker gasten zijn daar niet voor hun werk.

      Zodra je als producer een film over een onderwerp aangekondigd hebt, dan ben je daar niet zomaar per toeval. Dan ben je daar om te netwerken.

      @Miskent Ik mis nog steeds wat ze verplicht om met journalisten te praten. Voor het geval dat je dit niet weet: zelfs de F1-gerelateerde actoren (coureurs, overige teamleden, FIA-mensen) hebben zeer strakke afspraken met de media, en journalisten mogen zelfs als het om relevante mensen gaat niet zomaar iemand aan hun jas trekken. Bepaalde coureurs spreken niet eens met journmalisten voor de races. Je hebt nul verplichting om als gast met een journalist te spreken.

    Helemaal eens met Brundle... Als ik op straat loop en er worden straatinterviews gehouden, dan hoef ik ook niet te antwoorden of erop in te gaan....

      kwou zeggen, research my ass, jezelf lekker laten fêteren door de teams, en om de haverklap met je snuit op beeld komen zodanig dat IK (!) me er als racefan aan begin te ergeren. Vorige keer met die vervelende Tom Cruise die zo overdreven populair deed was ook tenenkrommend. Berichtje van Jim aan de Hollywood acteurs; blijf met je tronie weg van de race, als ik je wil zien dan zet ik wel een filmpje op ;-)
