Schumacher ziet mogelijkheden met Audi: "Ze zoeken een Duitse coureur"

De toekomst van Mick Schumacher in de Formule 1 is nog alles behalve zeker. De Duitse coureur beschikt over een aflopend contract bij Haas en het is nog niet duidelijk of hij een nieuw contract gaat krijgen. Schumacher denkt er zelf nog niet teveel over na maar geeft aan dat hij de komst van Audi interessant vindt.

Audi betreedt de koningsklasse van de autosport pas in 2026 maar vanzelfsprekend gaat het nu al over mogelijke coureurs. Het is in ieder geval wel duidelijk dat men bij Audi wel graag een Duitse coureur in de auto wil zien zitten. De ambities van Audi zijn groot en dat werd deze week alleen maar bevestigd door de aangekondigde samenwerking met het team van Sauber.

Fantastisch

De naam van Mick Schumacher wordt dan ook wel genoemd in verband met Audi. Schumacher geeft in gesprek met DPA News aan dat hij de komst van Audi een goede zaak vindt: "Ik denk dat het fantastisch is dat Audi de Formule 1 gaat betreden. Het is een wereldwijd bekend bedrijf maar ook een Duits bedrijf. Ik hoop dat dit ervoor gaat zorgen dat er meer Duitsers de Formule 1 inkomen en dat er een thuisrace komt."

Duurt nog eventjes

Schumacher heeft zelf ook wel vernomen dat men bij Audi op zoek is naar een Duitse coureur. Aangezien Schumacher momenteel de jongste Duitse coureur op de grid is en hij nog een hele Formule 1-toekomst voor zich hoopt te hebben, valt zijn naam veel. Schumacher weet dat ook: "Natuurlijk is het leuk om te horen dat zo'n grote groep mensen opzoek is naar een Duitse coureur. Maar het duurt nog wel eventjes."

Dat is niet zo, Max is dominant, niet de auto zoals de MERC dat 8 jaar lang wel was.

      En zijn achternaam. In ieder geval niet op basis van prestaties. Beetje zelfde verhaal met Verstappen. Achternaam en gepushed. Max heeft dan weer de mazzel dat hij in de meest dominante auto ooit is terecht gekomen

      Johan heeft helemaal gelijk. Al die 2e rangs coureurs zoals Jack Villeneuve, Mick Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Kevin Magnussen. Allemaal pannekoeken. Alleen Hamilton heeft het zelf gepresteerd.

      Dat jullie dat hier niet allemaal snappen.

    Schumacher is duidelijk wisselvallig. Maar zo in te stappen na 3 jaar niet in F1 racen lijkt me bij voorbaat kansloos voor audi.

    De issue met een Duitse rijder is dat er niet veel talent in Duitsland aan zit te komen. Ik zeg een derde nationaliteit voor verstappen. :o
