Wie is toch die F1-imitator Conor Moore?

Conor Moore is een wereldwijde hit dankzij het imiteren van F1-coureurs. In leuke, korte toneelstukjes neemt de Ier de F1-piloten op de hak.

Een paar weken terug was de populaire grappenmaker in de paddock tijdens de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten en kwam oog in oog te staan met de rijders die hij nadoet. Moore maakte zelfs een filmpje samen met Toto Wolff en George Russell van Mercedes.

Hoe zijn faam begon? Met sketches over golf in de 'The Conor Moore Show' op Golfpass, waar exclusieve content staat voor de ware golfliefhebber. Golf-icoon Tiger Woods werd ondere andere nagedaan en de Ier kreeg daarover lovende kritieken. Behalve grappige imitaties verzorgde Moore ook voor humoristische interviews met de beroemdheden.

De sporters die werden nagedaan, deelde deze imitaties met miljoenen volgers en kreeg Moore steeds meer bekendheid. Daardoor kwam ook Sky Sports News in aanraking met de Ier en wilde hem inhuren om voetbalpersoonlijkheden na te doen bij de traditionele show over 'Transfer Deadline Day', de laatste dag dat voetbalclubs in Engeland nog een slag kunnen slaan op de transfermarkt.

Hij werd ook uitgenodigd in 2018 om op te treden voor een publiek vol sterren, waaronder de voormalige managers van Engeland Sven Goran Erikson, Roy Hodgson, Sam Allardyce en Steve McClaren tijdens het evenement Legends of Football in Londen, waar Frank Lampard werd geëerd voor zijn bijdrage aan de sport.

Het balletje ging steeds meer rollen en Formule 1 kon niet uitblijven - mede door het spectaculaire seizoen van 2021. De komediant besloot ook de koningsklasse vanuit een grappige invalshoek te belichten. Elf maanden geleden kwam de eerste video tevoorschijn en dat werd zeer goed ontvangen.

Wel geestig, qua stem ook knap wat hij nadoet. Voor de rest soms een beetje flauw.

  De eerste 2 a 3 waren leuk. Ondertussen is het wat mij betreft meer van het zelfde.
  
  Wat wel sterk is dan de rijders er zelf erg om lachen over het algemeen. Hij doet dus wel degelijk iets erg goed.

  Niet elke imitatie is heel goed maar die van Sainz is bijna perfect.
  
  Mag op sommigen nog wel wat oefenen. Ik kan t zelf niet beter, maar ik heb wel bijv betere voorbij zien komen van Russell of Leclerc

  Ik vind die filmpjes van lollipop niet zo geweldig, en eigenlijk alleen omdat de stemmen niet leuk zijn. Moore doet het wel leuk.
