Aston Martin organiseert unieke actie om afscheid Vettel te vergulden

Viervoudig wereldkampioen Sebastian Vettel zal na de Grand prix van Abu Dhabi dit aankomende weekend afscheid nemen van de Formule 1. Eerder dit seizoen kondigde de Duitser zijn pensionering in een emotionele video aan, een boodschap dat bij duizenden fans over de wereld een traantje liet trekken. De huidige werkgever van Vettel Aston Martin heeft via Twitter een speciale actie bedacht om het afscheid van een F1-icoon een betekenisvolle glans te geven.

Sebastian Vettel kende samen met zijn voormalig team Red Bull een zeer sterke vier jaren. In die achtereenvolgende vier jaren (2010 t/m 2013) scoorde de Duitser vier wereldtitels. De leegte die Vettel achter laat zal ongetwijfeld enorm zijn. Vooral in thuisland Duitsland en in Japan is Vettel razend populair onder de fans en zal zijn afscheid ongetwijfeld pijn doen.

In een poging om de fans te laten zien wat Vettel voor hen betekent, heeft Aston Martin via Twitter een actie georganiseerd. Fans staan vrij om een videoboodschap op te nemen om afscheid te nemen van Vettel. De gelukkigen worden opgenomen in een #DankeSeb videocompilatie, een creatieve manier om de voetstappen van de Duitser in de Formule 1 te vereeuwigen.

In de tweet van Aston Martin met daarin het verzoek om een boodschap op te nemen (mochten fans daar open voor staan), zijn al ruim vijfhonderd reacties geregistreerd. De creativiteit van de fans is in de reacties duidelijk te zien; prachtige voorbeelden zijn van een Japanse man in een Aston Martin-raceoverall inclusief een helmreplica van Vettel en een grote groep Braziliaanse fans met een Vettel-masker op. Het is dan ook zeker de moeite waard om een kijkje in de reacties te nemen om te zien hoeveel Vettel voor hen betekent.

De #DankeSeb videocompilatie zal een bijzonder eerbetoon zijn aan de jongste F1-wereldkampioen ooit en zal het afscheid betekenen van een karakteristieke racer die nu de focus wil leggen op zijn familie en de bestrijding van globale problemen.

Na de race gewoon net als bij Alonso destijds donuts op het rechte stuk na de race, maar dan aan 1 kant van Seb een Ferrari en aan de andere kant een Red Bull
