Ralf Schumacher kent de remedie: "Je moet Mick soms een knuffel geven!"

Eerder deze week maakte het team van Haas bekend dat Mick Schumacher geen nieuw contract krijgt voor 2023. De jonge Duitser wordt volgend seizoen vervangen door zijn landgenoot Nico Hülkenberg. Micks oom Ralf Schumacher begrijpt niets van de keuze van Haas en hij haalt flink uit.

Mick Schumacher rijdt sinds vorig seizoen voor het team van Haas. De Duitser betrad de sport als de regerend Formule 2-kampioen. De zoon van zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Michael Schumacher kon echter nooit echt overtuigen. Dit seizoen scoorde hij zijn eerste punten maar schreef hij meerdere keren zijn wagen volledig af. In Saoedi-Arabië, Monaco en Japan was de schade zeer groot.

Micks oom Ralf Schumacher is woedend vanwege de keuze van Haas. De oud-coureur begrijpt niets van de afhandeling van de keuze. Bij de Duitse tak van Sky Sports spreekt oom Ralf duidelijke taal: "Dit is niet hoe je met je werknemers om moet gaan. De uitkomst was trouwens geen grote verrassing. Je moet zo'n jonge coureur meer steunen. Je moet hem soms een knuffel geven. Ik denk dan ook dat beter is dat ze uit elkaar gaan, als je verder zou gaan moet je namelijk wel het volledige team achter je hebben."

    Ben het niet helemaal eens met Ralf maar wel op het punt van support/vertrouwen geven. Los van dat Hulkie een fijne vent is zie ik hem niet als een stap voorruit ten opzichte van Mick. Ja Mick heeft wat fouten gemaakt maar ik vind wel dat hij talent heeft. Hopelijk kunnen Williams/Mercedes hem een plekje geven als reserverijder.

      Hulk spreekt een beetje Nederlands en ouweheorde regelmatig met Plooij... verder niets.
      Niets bijzonders dus, zowel op als naast de baan.
      Als ze bij Haas denken dat dit hen vooruit zal helpen dan hebben ze het mis. Met Hulk ipv Mick betekent het alleen maar dat ze straks, gezien de leeftijd, weer eerder op zoek moeten naar een vervanger.
      Haas leuk geprobeerd hoor, maar dat team hangt echt aan mekaar vast van verkeerde beslissingen.... sponsors fout geknoei, coureurs fout geknoei.

      RHJ, er moest gewoon snel een einde komen aan de verbintenis met Mick. Lange gewenningstijd en enorm veel schade veroorzaakt, dus hoge kosten.
      Ze zochten iemand die weinig schade rijdt en een boel ervaring heeft, dus geen roekie. Dan kom je al snel op Nico uit. Bovendien heeft Gene Haas niet de ambitie om in de punten te rijden. Meedoen is voldoende. Steiner denkt daar anders over.

    Ik denk dat je beter als analist niets moet zeggen over familie. Jos over Max is ook vaak tenenkrommend. Sainz Sr over junior idem. Doe mij maar de familie zoals de Pa van Vettel, stilletjes op de achtergrond maar duidelijk wel een goede band. Die kinderen en neefjes zijn met hun eigen beroep bezig.

      Jos en Sainz sr zijn geen analisten, en de pa van Vettel is gewoon een vader.
      Daar zit nog wel een verschil, Jos maakt deel uit van het team rond Max, en Sainz sr is natuurlijk een heel bekende naam uit het race wereldje. Ralf mag natuurlijk ook een mening hebben als analist over Mick, ik zie daar geen probleem in.

      NicoS, ik zie of zag Jos toch heel vaak aan een tafel zitten om geïnterviewd te worden over de race of seizoen van Max. Natuurlijk mag iedereen zijn mening hebben en ik snap ook wel dat ze het doen maar om nu te lezen van een oom dat zijn neefje een knuffel nodig heeft maakt het allemaal een beetje ongeloofwaardig. Het zijn meer supporters, wat niet zo gek is, als analisten.

      Dat Jos, die regelmatig aanwezig is op de race weekenden wel eens geïnterviewd wordt, is toch niets mis mee?
      Ralf is analist die zelf z’n mening deelt over wat hij ervan vindt.

    Nou Ome Ralf, Haas is geen peuterspeelzaal waar volop teleurgestelde kinderen getroost en geknuffeld moeten worden.
    En mocht Guenther Mick gaan knuffelen komen er weer andere praatjes de wereld in.
    Ferrari en Haas gingen enkel voor de naam Schumacher, misschien kon er wat met de begeleiding verbeteren? Maar dat weten wij niet, er is hem waarschijnlijk grote druk opgelegd en dat was even te veel dan.

    Een knuffel als die iets verkeerds doet, een ballon en koekjes wanneer die punten scoort... een ritje in de achtbaan als een tilke baan niet leuk genoeg was, een nintendo voor als die boos is, een pakje fristi na een DNF...

    Met zulke uitspraken van Ralf ben je te emotioneel betrokken om nog rationeel na de situatie te kijken.

    Niemand hier snapt ome Ralf: met een knuffel bedoelt hij een teddybeer. Maar hoe dat Mick gaat helpen weet ik niet, zo’n F1 cockpit is al krap, teddybeer erbij proppen, ik weet het niet hoor.
