Porsche Supercup tot tenminste 2030 in voorprogramma Formule 1

Het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 is goed gevuld. Naast de Formule 2, de Formule 3 en de W Series komt immers ook de Porsche Supercup geregeld in actie voor het begin van een Grand Prix. De Porsches vormen een bekend onderdeel van het weekend en dat zal voorlopig ook zo blijven.

Vandaag maakte de Formule 1 namelijk bekend dat ze een nieuw contract hebben getekend met de Porsche Supercup. De klasse staat door het nieuwe contract nu op het programma tot en met tenminste 2030. Aankomend jaar wordt het seizoen afgetrapt in Imola en is de klasse ook aanwezig tijdens de Grands Prix in Moncao, Oostenrijk, Silverstone, Hongarije, Spa, Zandvoort en Monza.

Naast de Porsche Supercup blijven ook de nevenklasse in het voorprogramma actief. In de slipstream van het nieuws over de contractverlening werd namelijk ook bekend dat de Porsche Carrera Cup Japan en de Porsche Carrera Cup Asia onderdeel zullen blijven van het voorprogramma van de Formule 1. De Porsche Supercup stond in 1993 voor het eerst in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 en is sindsdien dus niet meer verdwenen.
