Organisatie Australische Grand Prix breidt capaciteit uit

Veel organisatoren van Grands Prix profiteren van de groei van de Formule 1. De tribunes zaten afgelopen seizoen regelmatig afgeladen vol en er werden zeer veel bezoekersrecords verbroken. Dit was ook het geval in Australië en daar wil men ook aankomend seizoen weer zeer veel fans naar het circuit lokken.

Dit seizoen werd tijdens de Australische Grand Prix op het circuit van Albert Park in Melbourne een nieuw bezoekersrecord neergezet. Tijdens het gehele weekend, van donderdag tot zondag, kwamen er 419.114 bezoekers naar het circuit. Men verbrak daarmee het record dat dateerde uit 1996, aankomend jaar wil men over dat getal heen gaan.

De organisatie van de Australische Grand Prix liet eerder deze week weten dat ze voor de aankomende editie meer zitplaatsen gaan aanbieden. Voorheen konden er 39.000 mensen plaatsnemen op de tribunes rondom het circuit van Albert Park. Aankomend jaar groeit die capaciteit echter naar 44.000 stoeltjes, de kans is dus zeer groot dat het bezoekersrecord aankomend seizoen weer gaat sneuvelen.

Voorprogramma

De aankomende editie van de Australische Grand Prix belooft zeer speciaal te gaan worden. Het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 is aankomend jaar namelijk zeer vol. Naast de Australische Supercars komen namelijk ook de Formule 2 en de Formule 3 in actie. Voor het eerst in de geschiedenis van de opstapklassen rijden ze in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 op Australische bodem.
