Russell: "Iedereen pusht zo hard als ze kunnen"

George Russell zijn taak voor 2022 zit erop, maar zijn Mercedes-collega's in Brackley werken keihard om in 2023 een kampioenschapswagen te bouwen.

"De fabriek draait op dit moment”, aldus de Brit. "Ik denk dat de vooruitgang die we dit jaar hebben geboekt inspirerend is om te zien en iedereen wil ervoor zorgen dat we geen herhaling van dit jaar hebben en niet vechten voor het kampioenschap."

"Iedereen pusht zo hard als ze kunnen en hopelijk zullen we vechten voor het kampioenschap als we weer gaan racen in Bahrein", concludeerde Russell.

De Brit behaalde als enige Mercedes-coureur een poleposition en overwinning. Dit stond in schril contrast met de succesvolle periode van 2014 tot en met 2021 waarbij Mercedes acht keer het constructeurkampioenschap opeiste.
