Ben Sulayem verwacht dat controverse nooit zal verdwijnen

De Formule 1 heeft in de afgelopen seizoenen veelvuldig te maken gehad met zeer controversiële situaties. Regelmatig was er voor de FIA een grote rol weggelegd in deze discussies en omstandigheden. FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem denkt dat dit soort situaties niet zullen verdwijnen.

In de afgelopen twee seizoenen waren er meerdere controversiële situaties in de Formule 1. Na de seizoensfinale van 2021 ontstond er bijvoorbeeld veel ophef omtrent toenmalig wedstrijdleider Michael Masi. Dit jaar was er dan weer veel te doen omtrent de budgetcap-overschrijding van het team van Red Bull Racing, veel teams discussieerden daarover fel met elkaar en met de FIA.

Strijd

FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem ziet de situaties eveneens ontstaan. De man uit de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten is er tijdens het FIA Prize Giving Gala nogal duidelijk over bij de internationale media: "Je zal hier altijd controverse zien. Dat gebeurt nou eenmaal in de strijd tussen de teams die enorm op de limiet presteren. Ze weten altijd wel iets te vinden, elk uur biedt weer een nieuwe uitdaging."

Voorzichtig

Ben Sulayem beseft zich dat men bij de FIA niet te streng moet optreden bij elk wissewasje. De president van de FIA weet dat dit voor lastige situaties kan zorgen. Tijdens het Prize Giving Gala in de Italiaanse stad Bologna is hij duidelijk in het vervolg van zijn betoog: "Het gaat goed maar als FIA moeten we natuurlijk ook voorzichtig zijn. Aan de ene kant is het geld belangrijk, aan de andere kant zijn we als bestuursorgaan echt onmisbaar. Je kán het in deze sport niet doen zonder de regels en het constant aanpassen en updaten van de regels."

  Amaaai, ik wist niet dat muggenzifters dag op dinsdag was 😉
  
  Laat me gelijk meedansen nu we toch bezig zijn. Taaltechisch is dat alle componenten - zoals oa onderwerp/werkwoord/LV ... technisch op de juiste plaats staan. Taalkundig daarentegen is dat ieder woord ook korrekt is in die zin.
  Taalkundig was dat een fout van mij, taaltechnisch kon het nog door de beugel 🤣

  @Mr_Flexible: Bedankt voor deze les in de Nederlandse taal, maar, eerlijk gezegd, heb ik toch wel wat moeite om de inhoud van deze specifieke les tot me te nemen wanneer dit wordt gebezigd door iemand die ControverseS neerpent. ;-)

  De juiste schrijfwijze voor "korrekt" is dan ook "correct".
  Maar daar hoor je mij niet over want ik kan zelf het kofschip/fokschaap niet eens toepassen ondanks vele decennia proberen.

  Je bedoeld 2021 of 2022? Ik denk 2021, en het enige wat niet klopte was de 1e ronde, bocht afsnijden en positie niet terug geven, dat was de enige fout. Rest klopte als een bus volgens de regels.

En dat is nou net een van de grootste controverses, wanneer dit weer:
1) gebeurt midden in een seizoen ten nadele van alles en iedereen behalve een bepaald team
2) een bepaald team op de een of andere miraculeuze wijze inside information krijgt ten opzichte van bijvoorbeeld, ahum, Technical Directives enzovoorts.
