Ford reageert niet ontkennend op Red Bull-geruchten

Eerder deze week kwamen er verhalen naar buiten over een mogelijke samenwerking tussen het team van Red Bull Racing en automerk Ford. De Amerikaanse autobouwer zou met Red Bull in gesprek zijn over het mogelijk badgen van de krachtbronnen waarmee Red Bull vanaf 2026 gaat rijden.

Red Bull rijdt momenteel nog met krachtbronnen die in Japan worden gebouwd door de mensen van Honda. Op de achtergrond is men hard bezig met de ontwikkeling van de motoren voor 2026. In dat jaar gaan er immers nieuwe motorreglementen gelden in de Formule 1 en Red Bull wil dan zelf de motoren produceren met hun project Red Bull Powertrains.

Het is duidelijk dat Red Bull die motoren zelf wil bouwen en dat een technische deal er niet in zit. Wel kan men een financiële deal aangaan waarbij de motoren de naam krijgen van bijvoorbeeld Ford. De Amerikaanse autobouwer ontkent volgens Sports Business Journal de geruchten niet. In een kort statement laat men weten niet te reageren op speculatieve verhalen.

      Ik heb geen kritiek op ze, ik vroeg het me gewoon af.

      Ze kunnen heel veel verschillende antwoorden geven... Van glashard ontkennen tot toegeven dat er gesprekken zijn. En nog wat varianten daartussen.

      Maar ik reageerde alleen op de uitspraak dat ze niet reageren op speculatieve verhalen. Dat vond ik namelijk een opvallende woordkeus. Ze hadden immers ook kunnen zeggen dat ze niet ingaan op verhalen die verschijnen in de media. Daarmee laat je in het midden of die verhalen speculatief of waar zijn.

      Ik snap echt helemaal niets van die titel. En aangezien het om B o b gaat lees ik verder niet wat er onder staat. Doe ik al heel lang niet meer. Maar man. Deze is wel echt dramatisch.

    Ik vind Ford nou niet echt bij de F1 passen. Ik denk dat ze het dan gaan patchen naar Cosworth

      Ik vind het ook totaal niet passen bij RB en hoop dan ook dat dit niet doorgaat.
      Honda en Porsche hadden mijn grote voorkeur, benieuwd hoe Max daarover denkt.

      @Tifoso-01: Zou mij niet verbazen als Honda gewoon weer 100% verbonden wordt aan RBR. Immers, ze rijden nu met Honda, de RBR Powertrain zit vol met ex-Honda technici, dus waarom zoveel kapitaal vernietigen?

      Ford heeft altijd de motoren ge-pros-ti-tu-eerd aan constructors. Het zou zondermeer passen, ware het niet dat Red Bull van plan is zelf motoren te bouwen.

      Wat er uiteindelijk gaat gebeuren laat zich voorlopig raden.

      Ik heb begrepen dat red bull de verbrandings motor gaat maken en dan ford de electrishe aandrijflijn daarom zijn ze geinteresseerd

    Geen commentaar op speculatieve verhalen en de reactie is dan om te roepen dat ze niet ontkennen en dat het dus zomaar waar zou kunnen zijn. Dit terwijl het punt van Ford is dat ze dan door kunnen blijven gaan met reageren op allerlei speculaties.

    En sowieso is het non-nieuws. Want who cares als ze ergens een sticker op gaan plakken? Het is niet dat Ford daadwerkelijk mee doet. Nu is het een conversatie over een sponsorbetrekking, waar mensen meer om geven omdat het om een merk gaat, maar in feite net zo veel waard is als wanneer Campina hun naam op die motor had geplakt.
