Sainz wil nog niets zeggen over 2023: "De tijd zal het leren"

Het team van Ferrari kon dit seizoen lang vechten met Red Bull Racing maar moest de Oostenrijkse renstal uiteindelijk toch maar voor laten gaan. Men wil aankomend seizoen weer schitteren maar of dat gaat gebeuren is nog niet zeker. Carlos Sainz wil in ieder geval niet op de zaakjes vooruit lopen.

Ferrari begon goed aan het afgelopen seizoen. Men won met Charles Leclerc twee van de eerste drie Grands Prix. Betrouwbaarheidsproblemen en tactische fouten zorgden uiteindelijk voor een onoverbrugbare achterstand op Max Verstappen en Red Bull Racing. Uiteindelijk kosten de problemen teambaas Mattia Binotto de kop en wordt hij vervangen door Frédéric Vasseur.

Tijd zal het leren

Men hoopt bij Ferrari ook succesvol te kunnen zijn in het aankomende seizoen. Ferrari-coureur Carlos Sainz weet dat nog niet zeker en hij reageert terughoudend in gesprek met Autosprint: "De tijd zal het gaan leren maar ik weet het nu nog niet. Het team is erin geslaagd om een goede auto te bouwen en we moeten met Vasseur zien te begrijpen hoe we een winnende team kunnen opbouwen. In ieder geval beschikken we over de juiste middelen."

Doel

Sainz realiseert zich dat alleen een winnende auto het team van Ferrari niet persé ver kan brengen. De Spanjaard weet dat er veel meer nodig is en daar is hij eerlijk over: "Het is voor ons niet alleen het doel om een winnende auto te bouwen maar ook om een winnend team te creëren. Dat is het doel van Fred Vasseur, van Charles en ook het doel van mij. Het is het doel van iedereen die de kleuren van Ferrari draagt."

Ik hoop toch echt niet dat Ferrari toevallig een keer vol in de roos heeft geschoten en dat ze nu terug zakken. De ontwikkelslag hebben ze afgelopen seizoen verloren. Ze konden niet opboksen tegen de ontwikkelsnelheid van RedBull en Mercedes. ik hoop dat we ene mooie strijd gaan krijgen tussen 4 teams.

Want vergeet niet dat McLaren of Alpine ook zomaar een keer het geluk kunnen hebben en een bolide bouwt die ineens erg goed werkt...

  @Shakedown, Ferrari zou in het begin van het nieuwe seizoen best wel de verrassing kunnen zijn. Het schijnt dat ze 30 pk erbij hebben ‘gevonden’.

  Alpine doet een mooie betrouwbaarheidsupdate aan PU en het koelingssysteem. Ook de packaging van alle systemen zal anders zijn om aero redenen. Ze gaan een grote stap zetten daarmee maar verwacht ze niet meteen aansluiten bij de toppers.

  Ferrari heeft ook een betrouwbaargeidsupdate maar ook Mercedes en Honda zullen wel aanpassingen uitvoeren onder het mom van betrouwbaarheid. Alle teams krijgen nu een gedetailleerde informatie over wat werd veranderd. Het is een nieuwe tegel met transparantie wat we alleen maar kunnen aanmoedigen. De FIA gaat jaar na jaat dit wel strenger bekijken

Hoop wederom de 'warme deken' van deze seit te zijn, die onuitputtelijk zorgdraagt voor verbinding in plaats van tegenstellingen op 'ons' prachtige forum...
