Ralf Schumacher ziet in Mick de opvolger van Hamilton bij Mercedes

Mick Schumacher fungeert volgend jaar als derde coureur van het team van Mercedes. De jonge Duitser kon geen racezitje vinden nadat Haas zijn contract niet verlengde. Ralf Schumacher denkt dat het een slimme zet is van zijn neef, hij denkt zelfs dat Mick in 2024 misschien wel zal gaan racen voor Mercedes.

Mick Schumacher kende dit jaar geen sterk seizoen in dienst van het team van Haas. De Duitser werd met speels gemak verslagen door zijn nieuwe teamgenoot Kevin Magnussen, daarnaast crashte Schumacher ook meerdere keren zeer stevig. In Monaco, Saoedi-Arabië en Japan schreef hij zijn auto volledig af. Bij Mercedes zien ze veel in hem en wordt hij met open armen ontvangen.

Oom Ralf Schumacher denkt dat zijn neef een reële kans heeft om Lewis Hamilton in 2024 op te volgen bij het team van Mercedes. De oud-coureur legt zijn opvallende redenatie uit bij Sport1: " Laten we ervanuit gaan dat George Russell wederom sneller zal zijn dan Lewis Hamilton. Gaat Hamilton dan nog wel door? Dat zal heel erg interessant gaan worden. Lewis heeft echter zoveel krediet bij Mercedes dat hij het zelf kan beslissen. Geld zal in ieder geval geen rol gaan spelen, hij heeft dat immers genoeg. Het zal er nu om gaan bij wie de auto het beste past."

    Nouja waarom niet. Ze hebben ook Bottas naast Hamilton gezet om zich echt op de nummer 1 rijder te richten. Russell en Schumacher zouden best een goed team zijn als alles erop gericht is om Russell kampioen te maken.

    Ik meen hier op deze site gelezen te hebben dat Toto en Hamilton het contract met 5 jaren willen verlengen, Hamilton zal er alles aan doen en niet stoppen voordat hij die achtste titel heeft. Dus ik geef Schumacher geen schijn van kans. En over 5 jaren loopt er beslist beter talent Ron in de F1.

    Mocht Hamilton er toch de brui aangegeven dan schat ik de kansen voor Lando Norris het hoogste in.

    LMAO dit is de meest random opmerking van het jaar. Mick heeft het niet goed genoeg gedaan bij een achterhoede team met relatief weinig druk als HAAS maar hij zou wel doodleuk een ideale vervanger zijn van Hamilton.....jaja..nee nee ralphie!
