Red Bull neemt afscheid van RB18 in bijzondere video

Het F1-team van Red Bull kende een uiterst dominant seizoen in 2022. Met de teller op maar liefst zeventien van de 22 Grand Prix-overwinningen in totaal en 759 behaalde constructeurspunten, nam de Oostenrijkse renstal met coureurs Max Verstappen en Sergio Peréz op grote snelheid afstand van concurrent Ferrari. Nu de blikken op 2023 gericht zijn, nemen zes onzichtbare maar even belangrijke Red Bull engineers afscheid van de krankzinnig dominante RB18-bolide.

Max Verstappen vijftien overwinningen, teamgenoot Sergio Peréz twee. In totaal bij zeventien van de 22 races races op het hoogste podiumstapje eindigen, waardoor het team van Red Bull meer dan tweehonderd (!) punten meer scoorde dan runner-up Ferrari. 2022 was een baanbrekend sterk seizoen voor het team van Red Bull, een prestatie dat het team in 2023 hoopt voort te zetten.

Voornamelijk de namen van Verstappen, Peréz, Christian Horner en Dr. Helmut Marko staan bekend als de vertegenwoordigers van het F1-team van de energiedrankjesgigant. Achter hen staat een ontzettend grote diverse groep mensen die achter de schermen gebouwd hebben aan het letterlijke succes met de naam RB18. Maar liefst 1400 mensen hebben hun bijdrage geleverd aan een wagen die op aerodynamisch vlak vrijwel onoverwinnelijk leek, vooral tijdens de races.

Nu de tijd is aangekomen om de RB18 op te poetsen en klaar te maken voor de tentoonstelling, krijgen zes medewerkers van Red Bull de kans om voor de camera afscheid te nemen van een monster van een auto. De zes medewerkers behoren tot een onopvallende maar cruciale groep mensen die gezorgd hebben voor het behaalde succes in 2022.

  Dit is in de hal waar alle oude auto's staan. Dit is de echte auto. EN als het niet zo is dan is het toch de echte. En de mensen waren oprecht happy.

  Voor het filmpje maakt het weinig uit maar het is inderdaad de FIA concept car die ze begin dit jaar ook gebruikte om de livery te presenteren.

  Nee, ik ben niet happy.
  
  Ik heb gisteren 2 uur gekeken naar een paar oude monteurs die om een mclaren uit 1988 staan. Die vertelde van alles over die auto tot in detail, was super interessant. Dit filmpje is waardeloos. Nou snap ik het wel, geheime zooi etc, maar laat dan op zn minst de auto zien van de eerste race van 2022 ofzo. Maar maakt niet uit, ik wacht wel 15 jaar op een interessant filmpje.
