Pirelli voorziet groot tijdsverschil tussen compounds voor België

Het verschil tussen de zachte en de medium band kan op het lange circuit van Spa-Francorchamps oplopen tot meer dan een seconde per rondje. Bandenleverancier Pirelli waarschuwt de teams alvast, het contrast tussen de compounds kan groot zijn in België.

Pirelli-motorsportbaas Paul Hembery: Op veel manieren is Spa-Francorchamps een onvoorspelbaar circuit en wij hebben weinig data om op terug te vallen. Op basis van wat we eerder gezien hebben omhelst de combinatie van zacht en medium de juiste balans van snelheid en duurzaamheid, waardoor de coureurs al hun talenten aan moeten en kunnen spreken. België is een race die moedige inhaalacties beloont, iets wat past bij onze filosofie.
