Circuit of the Americas legt werk stil in afwachting van geld

Het werk aan de nieuwe baan nabij Austin, het Circuit of the Americas, ligt al een paar dagen plat, zo rapporteert de American Statesman. Volgens een anonieme beller naar de krant heeft aannemer Austin Commercial de onderaannemers ingelicht dat ze een paar weken vrijaf kunnen nemen.

Het geld zou namelijk op zijn, maar een woordvoerder van het Circuit of the Americas weerspreekt die lezing. Door het goede weer zouden de werkzaamheden voor liggen op schema en moeten de aannemers een paar dagen wachten op de volgende betaling. We hebben onze afspraken met de banken gebaseerd op de bouwplannen en op die manier gesynchroniseerd, aldus de woordvoerder van het Circuit of the Americas.
