Vettel wil rally-avontuur niet uitsluiten: "Altijd leuk gevonden"

Sebastian Vettel reed in Abu Dhabi zijn laatste Grand Prix in de koningsklasse van de autosport. De Duitse viervoudig wereldkampioen nam afscheid van de sport en geniet sindsdien van zijn racepensioen. Vettel wil toch niet stil zitten en hij sluit een nieuw avontuur in bijvoorbeeld de rallywereld niet uit.

Vettel rijdt later deze maand alweer in een groot race-evenement. De voormalig Aston Martin-coureur neemt namelijk deel aan de Race of Champions in Zweden. Net als in 2022 wordt ROC verreden op sneeuw en ijs, dat betekent dus ook dat er wordt gereden met onder andere rallywagens. In 2022 kwam Vettel goed voor de dag met deze wagens en dat zorgde voor speculatie.

Men begon zich namelijk af te vragen of Vettel na zijn Formule 1-loopbaan zich niet moest gaan richten op een avontuur in de rallywereld. In gesprek met de officiële website van de Formule 1 blijft Vettel rustig: "Ik heb rallyrijden om één of andere reden altijd leuk gevonden. Ik begrijp echter heus wel dat dat een enorme uitdaging is omdat het compleet anders is dan bijvoorbeeld gewoon racen op het circuit. Ik weet het dus niet, we gaan het wel zien."
