Formule 1 tekent videodeal: helmcamera beschikbaar voor iedere coureur

De Formule 1 heeft een contract getekend dat alle 2023-coureurs in de gelegenheid zal stellen om gebruik te kunnen maken van de innovatieve helmcamera’s. In de afgelopen jaren werd er veel in de koningsklasse met de ontzettend kleine camera’s geëxperimenteerd. De in de helm geïntegreerde camera zal bij alle Grands Prix gebruikt kunnen worden.

De Formule 1 tekende eerder deze week een deal met de Racing Force Group om gebruik te gaan maken van de zogeheten “Driver’s Eye Camera”. De minicamera, die in de helm geïntegreerd is, zal volgens de Racing Force Group door alle Formule 1-coureurs tijdens het gehele 2023-seizoen van de Formule 1 gebruikt kunnen worden, ongeacht de gekozen helmfabrikant.

De camera, die een minuscule 1,43 gram weegt en 8mm in diameter is, wordt in de voering aan de binnenkant van de helm geïnstalleerd. Of de coureurs er ook daadwerkelijk veel gebruik gaan maken, valt nog te bezien. Naar alle waarschijnlijkheid zal de Formule 1 in ieder geval graag zien dat de camera’s gebruikt worden, aangezien de technologie een uniek perspectief levert.

Het camera beeld schokt teveel om goed beeld te kunnen hebben. De coureurs zien het ook niet zo, hun hersenen/ogen halen de schokken weg.

Als ze er een realtime filter opzetten die de schokken weghaalt zoals ik iemand op youtube eens heb zien doen wordt het al een stuk bruikbaarder.

Een volwaardige camera van 8mm (of is het 9? 😏) en 1,43 gram! Het blijft toch wonderlijk en bijzonder knap!

  Inderdaad. 2 bochten per race is voldoende. Moet wel zeggen dat die opnames in Zandvoort met die camera die horizontaal bleef opnemen erg vet was. Daar zg je hoe stijl die combochten daar zijn.
  
  Ik zie veel minder van het gedrag van de auto. Dus hopelijk blijft de vaste camera de camera van dienst.

  Ik ga niet naar een race kijken naar een vanaf de helm cam opgenimen beelden. Keek na de motor update van Ferrari ook niet meer naar de onboards daar. Sinds de update is er een irritante pieptoon te horen van de turbo.

Dan hoop ik dat er twee camera's in de helm komen, eentje aan iedere kant, Dit om de beelden aan elkaar te plakken/overlappen. dit om een natuurlijker beeld te krijgen met de rijder, want deze rijd immers ook met twee ogen open.

Ben misschien ouderwets, maar onboard camera vind ik al mans genoeg, ik heb niets met die stuiterende onscherpe beelden.
Van mij mogen ze het weglaten.

Ik zie liever een 360 camera op elke auto gemonteerd. In combinatie met VR headsets, zoals PS VR of Oculus, beter dan dat gaat het dan niet worden. inclusief stereo microfoons natuurlijk

Deze camera is leuk voor een keer.
Ik heb liever een systeem dat commentatoren gemute worden als er iets over de boordradio komt.
