Tost lacht geruchten over Ford-deal weg: "Het is daar Fashion Week"

De afgelopen winterstop zat vol met geruchten over nieuwe mogelijke fabrikanten die de Formule 1 kunnen betreden. Eén van deze verhalen ging over een mogelijke samenwerking tussen het team van Red Bull Racing en Ford. Het is inmiddels al weer een tijdje stil omtrent deze mogelijke samenwerking en volgens Franz Tost is er niets van waar.

De geruchten gingen tijdens de winterstop hardnekkig rond. Aangezien Red Bull momenteel zelf de motoren in beheer heeft en vanaf 2026 ook niet meer samenwerkt met Honda, is het niet vreemd als men op zoek gaat naar een nieuwe naamgever van de krachtbronnen. De verhalen over Ford waren opvallend en ze werden alleen maar sterker toen duidelijk werd dat zowel Red Bull als AlphaTauri hun nieuwe bolide gaat onthullen in New York.

Volgende maand worden de wagens van de twee renstallen die onder de Red Bull-vlag vallen dus in de Verenigde Staten aan de buitenwereld getoond. AlphaTauri-teambaas Franz Tost lacht de verhalen over een mogelijke Ford-aankondiging in New York weg. Bij Sport1 spreekt hij zich uit: "Het is daar dan de Fashion Week. Dat is dan ook de reden dat wij daar heen gaan." De redenatie van Tost valt niet uit de lucht, AlphaTauri is immers ook een modemerk.
