Alfa Romeo stelt Vandoorne-manager aan als teamvertegenwoordiger

Het team van Alfa Romeo zat sinds het vertrek van Frédéric Vasseur zonder teambaas. De Zwitserse renstal stelde Andreas Seidl wel aan als CEO, maar een teambaas ontbrak nog. Vandaag kwam Alfa Romeo met meer duidelijkheid naar buiten. Men presenteerde Alessandro Alunni Bravi als Team Representative.

Alunni Bravi was al de Managing Director van de Sauber Group. De Italiaan zal nu dus ook de taak van Team Representative op zich gaan nemen. Officieel gezien is hij dus niet de teambaas, maar volgens Alfa Romeo zal hij het tegen vertegenwoordigen tijdens de Grand Prix-weekenden. Praktisch gezien is Alunni Bravi dus de opvolger van de naar Ferrari vertrokken Vasseur.

De aanstelling van Alunni Bravi is één van de eerste acties van de nieuwe CEO Andreas Seidl. Seidl werd op zijn beurt overgenomen van McLaren, waar hij in de afgelopen jaren fungeerde als teambaas. Alunni Bravi is geen onbekende in de racewereld. De Italiaan richtte eerder het managementbureau Trusted Management op. Het bedrijf heeft onder andere Stoffel Vandoorne onder contract staan.
