Ferrari denkt motorproblemen te hebben opgelost: "Dat was onze achilleshiel"

Het team van Ferrari kende vorig jaar een sterke seizoenstart, maar daarna kampte men met veel betrouwbaarheidsproblemen. De motorische ongemakken kostten het team de strijd om de wereldtitel. Om te voorkomen dat Ferrari aankomend seizoen weer tegen dat soort problemen aanloopt, heeft men het nodig opgelost in de winterstop.

Ferrari begon afgelopen jaar ijzersterk aan het seizoen. Charles Leclerc schreef twee van de eerste drie Grands Prix op zijn naam en leek de titelfavoriet te zijn. Daarna kreeg Ferrari steeds meer last van betrouwbaarheidsproblemen en ploften de krachtbronnen meerdere keren. Ferrari liep een grote achterstand op in het wereldkampioenschap en hij daarna geen vuist meer maken in de strijd met Red Bull Racing.

Aanpassingen

Bij Ferrari gaat men ervanuit dat ze aankomend seizoen geen problemen gaan hebben met de krachtbron. De Italiaanse renstal heeft hard gewerkt in de winter en motorbaas Enrico Gualtieri spreekt zich uit bij Motorsport.com: "De power units zijn sinds afgelopen jaar bevroren, dat is inclusief de olie en de brandstof. De enige aanpassingen die mogen, zijn dan weer gerelateerd aan de betrouwbaarheid."

Achilleshiel

Bij Ferrari is men zich bewust van de grote problemen van afgelopen seizoen. De Italianen hebben niet het gevoel dat er in 2023 soortgelijke problemen tot uitvalbeurten zullen zorgen: "Vorig seizoen was dat echt onze achilleshiel. We hebben deze winter gewerkt aan het oplossen van de belangrijkste problemen zodat we op die manier het hoogste niveau qua betrouwbaarheid kunnen bereiken. Dat is onze doelstelling voor 2023 en ons werk draaide daar deze winter om."

Iedereen in de F1 weet dat betrouwbaarheid en potentieel te gebruiken vermogen hand in hand gaan.

Maar goed, dat geldt ook voor de andere teams.

Feitje van de dag: afgelopen 10 seizoenen... heeft de latere kampioen dat seizoen slechts 2x keer de opener gewonnen...

Gewoon de eerste race wat terughoudend zijn dan komt t goed met Ferrari.

  In dat geval zijn de odds toch andersom.
  Verstappen hooft nog nooit de opener gewonnen en hij is 2 keer wel en 6 keer niet kampioen geworden.
  
  Staat me bij dat hij 2 maal bij de opener op het podium eindigde. 1 maal wel en 1 maal niet de latere kampioen.

Ze geven aan dat de onbetrouwbaarheid van de motor de achilleshiel was. Eens! en verder: de rijders (fouten LeClerc met name en de strategie....

  Ik snap ferrari en de rijders van ze sws niet. Ze leggen zichzelf zoveel druk op in het pre season. De Italiaanse media helpt wel graag om mee.

  Dat lijkt mij ook niet meer dan het minste wat van Ferrari en hun coureurs mag worden verwacht. Het rijkste team van de F1 en vorig jaar een titelwaardige wagen en volgens henzelf het beste rijders duo.
  
  Wat zou er anders voor nodig zijn om voor de titel te kunnen gaan?

  en de technical directive in Spa heeft ze ook geen goed gedaan. Na de zomer kwamen ze er qua snelheid ook minder aan te pas, terwijl ze daarvoor wel snel waren maar idd door fouten en een onbetrouwbare auto ook al veel punten hadden weggegooid. Denk wel dat ze een goede kans hebben om dit jaar weer vooraan mee te doen.

  Ik bedoel meer kijk naar red bull en mercedes. Het sandbaggen is weer begonnen tussen die 2 maar ferrari blaast hoog van de toren, met de Italiaanse media voorop, en zijn uiteindelijk het 3e team. Tuurlijk met Ferrari gaan voor beide kampioenschappen maar je kan het ook wat rustiger brengen, vind ik. Ik heb ook vaak gehoord dat ferrari dit doet om de sponsors tevreden te houden.

  Waar blaast Ferrari hier hoog van de toren?! De motorbaas geeft toe dat de onbetrouwbaarheid van de motor vorig jaar hun achilleshiel was en dat dat nu zo goed mogelijk verholpen is. Is een feit, niets hoog van de toren blazen.
