Voor Aston Martin was het niet Lance Stroll, maar reservecoureur Felipe Drugovich de aangewezen man om namens de Britse renstal de testdagen af te trappen. Stroll moest de testdagen namelijk aan zich voorbij laten gaan omdat de coureur een fietsongeluk had. Drugovich, de Formule 2-kampioen van 2022, laat via social media weten dat het ochtenddeel van de eerste testdag heel goed is verlopen.

Lance Stroll zou zich samen met team-nieuwkomer Fernando Alonso op gaan maken voor de driedaagse wintertest in Bahrein. De Canadees had echter een fietsongeluk in Spanje, waardoor de coureur zijn takenpakket aan reservecoureur Felipe Drugovich moest geven. De Braziliaan mocht de driedaagse testsessie ook meteen namens Aston Martin aftrappen, aangezien hij voor dag één in de ochtend werd ingedeeld.

Drugovich wist veertigmaal over het Bahrain International Circuit in de rondte te rijden, en laat via social media weten zijn takenlijst met succes afgerond te hebben. "Alles verliep smooth, de auto werkt prima. Aan het eind heb ik nog wat snelle ronden kunnen rijden, dus dat was lekker. Ik ben dankbaar dat ik werd opgeroepen om hier vandaag te zijn."
