Dit viel op tijdens de derde testdag in Bahrein

De testweek in Bahrein zit erop. Vandaag werd de derde testdag verreden op het asfalt van het circuit in Sakhir en dat zorgde weer voor de nodige inzichten. Veel teams en coureurs hebben zich vandaag weer voorzien van de nodige data en kilometers. GPToday.net zet de opvallendste momenten van de zaterdag op een rij.

Red Bull Racing

Max Verstappen kwam vandaag niet in actie, maar Red Bull Racing was wel zeer snel op de zaterdag. Sergio Perez noteerde in de middagsessie meerdere snelle tijden en sloot de dag af bovenaan de tijdenlijst. De Mexicaan reed ook nog eens 133 rondjes en was daarmee na Alexander Albon de productiefste coureur van de zaterdag. De op het eerste oog sterke vorm van Red Bull zal voor kopzorgen zorgen bij de concurrerende renstallen.

McLaren

Het team van McLaren sloeg een modderfiguur op de laatste testdag in Bahrein. De Britse renstal hoopt een stap te kunnen zetten, maar deze testdag liet echter zien dat er mogelijk een stap achteruit is gezet. Zowel Lando Norris als Oscar Piastri brachten veel tijd door in de pitbox. Piastri reed slechts 44 rondjes en Norris kwam in de middag niet verder dan 37 rondjes, het was een pijnlijke teleurstelling voor de ploeg uit Woking.

Aston Martin

Aston Martin liet ook vandaag weer zien wat ze kunnen. Er werd niet gefocust op snelle rondjes, maar Fernando Alonso en invaller Felipe Drugovich reden zeer veel rondjes. Alonso stond lang in de box in de middag, maar hij kwam alsnog tot een enorm aantal van 80 rondjes. Ook Drugovich mag trots terugkijken op deze zaterdag aangezien de regerend Formule 2-kampioen een mooi aantal van 77 rondjes reed.

Perez klokte de snelste tijd op een C4 band, maar toen hij op het einde een snelle ronde reed op de C5 was hij 3 tiende langzamer. Dat zal waarschijnlijk komen door de snellere slijtage. Ik vermoed dat RedBull voorop ligt maar de verhoudingen met Mercedes is kleiner dan men denkt.

  Ik durf nog geen voorspelling te doen voor zondag en zie het zomaar tussen 4 teams gaan.
