Hamilton ontkent pensioen-geruchten: "Mensen creëren geruchten zonder feiten"

Eens, hoop gossip. Maar gossip creëert clicks, en daar verdient de media geld mee. Hoewel er weinig komkommers groeien in de winter, is dit helaas de manier waarop de F1 media de komkommertijd vult totdat er weer geraced wordt.

Maar de persoon zelf heeft ook vaak een rede om geen eerlijk antwoord te geven of hele goede mediatraining gehad. Dan moet je als verslaggever of journalist toch opzoek naar andere bronnen.

Kan je feiten hebben voor een besluit dat subjectief wordt gemaakt?

Ik bedoel ja, je kan het vragen... maar aan de vooravond van het seizoen krijg je echt geen eerlijk antwoord.

Maar om wat feiten te noemen:
1. Hij heeft zijn slechtste seizoen ooit gehad
2. Leeftijd begint te tikken en hij heeft vaak gezegd nog meer dingen te willen doen dan F1... dan begint de tijd daarvoor wel te dringen.
3. Best veel toppers zijn vertrokken bij mercedes naar teams als RBPT en Aston Martin

Maar ik blijf er bij... dit is een subjectief besluit die iemand moet maken voor zichzelf. Niemand kan in zijn hoofd kijken dus het is ietwaf vreemd om te verwijzen naar "de feiten" bij iets dat een subjectief besluit is.

het feit dat het besluit subjectief wordt gemaakt, geeft juist aan dat je er weinig over kunt zeggen, juist omdat het subjectief is. Er worden feiten bijgehaald als aflopend contract, wat heel vaak aan de orde is en makkelijk verlengt kan worden en er wordt voor Lewis gedacht, maar uiteindelijk weet hij alleen zelf of hij juist wil stoppen omdat het minder gaat, of er juist een uitdaging inziet zoals hij zelf zegt. Speculeren mag altijd, en Sky moest de afgelopen week ook heel wat tijd zien op te vullen, maar laat mensen aub niet vergeten dat het om speculatie's en geruchten gaat. Het valt niet voor iedereen mee om dat onderscheid te maken.

Die 8e knaagt. Zolang Hamilton denkt dat die 8e toch te bereiken is zal hij het proberen, al vermoed ik dat de lol er zo wel snel af gaat

De subjectiveit zit opgesloten in de vraag hoe objectief Hamilton een besluit kan nemen. Want als Hamilton dat besluit objectief neemt, is het toch zijn besluit en dus subjectief, tenzij het op feiten gebaseerd zijn, dan zou je het weer objectief kunnen noemen. Maar als die feiten niet gecheckt zijn, is objectief dan toch subjectief, en wie beslist daar over op basis van objectiviteit, zonder dat het alsnog subjectief is en ik geen flauw idee meer heb waar dit over gaat.

Asked if he was concerned that this could be his final season in the sport if Mercedes can’t deliver a race-winning package, Hamilton argued that rumours concerning his future were nonsense.

“Not at all. It’s ultimately… people creating rumours without facts. It’s never helpful. And you would have thought they would have both known by now. I’ve been with Mercedes since I was 13,” he said.

“Having a difficult year we had last year, still here, whether or not we have a difficult year this year, I’ll still be here. I’m a fighter, and we fight as a team.
I love the challenge of finding solutions and trying to, I still believe I’m able to put the car in places that others are perhaps not able to, and I love that challenge.

“Of course I wish that we start the season with a great car. But it’s the journey I think that really counts. So there is no hold up with our contract. I’ve always been very, very relaxed. I don’t feel like I’ve got to get it done right this second. I’m in a very fortunate position.

It’ll get done when we’re ready. I have a great relationship with Toto and Mercedes, and we fully support each other. I’m really excited about the future together.
I’m really proud of the work that we’re doing on and off the track, and the potential things we can do going forward. We’ll get there,” the British driver added.

Following on from previous defeats to Button and Nico Rosberg, Hamilton was beaten by a team-mate over a season for only the third time in his F1 career last year. George Russell finished two places higher in the standings than his more experienced partner and claimed Mercedes’ solitary victory of the year by edging out Hamilton in Brazil.

While Russell stands to represent the future of the Mercedes team, Hamilton suggested that the internal competition between them has only been a positive for the progression of the Brackley-based outfit.

“I felt Valtteri [Bottas] was young… But I think it’s always positive, not just with George but we’ve got so many new people within the team,” he considered.
“Whether it’s here in the garage seeing new faces or back in the factory with new recruits coming through all the time. New blood, new ideas, new enthusiasm is always good to have.

George is only in his second year with the team and massively enthusiastic and talented and hungry to push for wins, and we need that.
We need both people pushing forward, so that’s a positive,” Hamilton concluded.

In de volgende passage lijkt Hamilton aan te geven niet met opgeven (stoppen) bezig te zijn...

Hoe lang de houdbaarheid is van deze uitspraken blijft natuurlijk de vraag, en de één zal Lewis op zijn woorden geloven, de ander niet.
Heb zelf zo iets van: ik hoop dat de coureur Hamilton doorgaat maar wacht het rustig af, 'we' zien het wel...

Wanneer de FIA Lewis zou uitsluiten omdat hij zijn piercings niet wil verwijderen hebben we een objectief pensioen wat Lewis subjectief misschien niet wil.
