Haas ontkent verhalen over Russische handel moederbedrijf

Het team van Haas bevindt zich momenteel in een opvallende situatie. Gisteren kwam namelijk naar buiten dat het moederbedrijf van het team mogelijk zaken heeft gedaan met Rusland terwijl dit door de oorlog in Oekraïne momenteel verboden is. Vandaag ontkende Haas de zaak doormiddel van een statement.

Haas Automation raakte deze week in opspraak nadat PBS meldde dat de Oekraïense Economische Veiligheidsraad het bedrijf beschuldigt van het leveren van machines aan Rusland. Haas Automation maakt machines en apparatuur die goed bruikbaar zijn in de wapenindustrie. Aangezien er sinds de oorlog in Oekraïne geen handel meer mag worden gedreven met Rusland, raakte Haas Automation in opspraak.

Het Formule 1-team van Haas kwam vanochtend met een statement naar buiten waarin ze alle beschuldigingen ontkennen. Haas geeft aan dat de informatie van PBS er volgens hen iets anders uit ziet. Volgens de Amerikaanse renstal zijn er sinds 3 maart 2022 geen producten meer verscheept naar Rusland, verlieten de 18 machines uit het verhaal van PBS de fabriek al voor het uitbreken van de oorlog en staat Haas Automation volledig achter Oekraïne in de huidige situatie. Daarnaast geeft Haas aan dat na het uitbreken van de oorlog alle banden met de Russen zijn verbroken.
