Russell blijft bij standpunt: "Red Bull is momenteel een klasse apart"

Het team van Red Bull Racing geldt voorafgaand de Saoedisch Grand Prix wederom als de grote favoriet voor de zege. De Oostenrijkse renstal was anderhalve week geleden oppermacht in Bahrein en ook George Russell verwacht dit weekend in Jeddah een soortgelijke situatie. De Brit denkt dat Red Bull van een ander niveau is.

Red Bull pakte in Bahrein een 1-2tje met Max Verstappen en Sergio Perez. Of dit ook het geval zal zijn in Saoedi-Arabië is nog niet zeker, het circuit in Jeddah is immers compleet verschillende vergeleken met het Bahrain International Circuit. De concurrenten van Red Bull houden echter wel rekening met een nieuwe machtsgreep van de Oostenrijkse renstal.

Credits

Ook Mercedes-coureur George Russell verwacht dat Red Bull weer gaat heersen. De Brit is daar in Jeddah nogal duidelijk over in gesprek met de internationale media: "Toen ik de Grand Prix van Bahrein terugkeek, zag ik dat Red Bull een seconde sneller was dan de rest en dat hun engineers zeiden dat ze rustiger aan moesten doen. Dat is best een beetje zorgwekkend en we moeten ze ook credits geven. Ik denk dat we een paar dingen op hun auto zagen die heel erg interessant zijn."

Klasse apart

Russell weet dat er waarschijnlijk wel kansen zullen komen voor de concurrentie van Red Bull, maar de Brit denkt dat hier geluk voor nodig is. Hij ziet het pessimistisch in voor zijn eigen kansen: "Natuurlijk komen er races waar ze betrouwbaarheidsproblemen krijgen, waar ze crashen of dat er iets anders gebeurt. Ze zijn echter een klasse apart op het moment. Ik denk dat iedereen in de paddock denkt dat ze hun volledige potentie nog niet hebben laten zien. Ze houden iets achter en ik zie geen reden waarom ze niet elk weekend de snelste zullen zijn."

  Niet goed opgelet want Max sleutelde wel degelijk mee aan zijn Kart, hij moest van Jos de technische basis leren, zowel Chassis als Motor kennis.

Sja klasse apart, wie was dat voor deze serie ook al weer?
Oja, MERCEDES, waar Russel nu rijd, dacht in een gespreid bed terecht te komen waarschijnlijk.
En nu er voorlopig is van RB vinden ze het niet eerlijk, het is nooit anders geweest in de Gemotoriseerde sport, verschuiving vind altijd plaats, gelukkig maar.
