Rode vlag in Melbourne na crash Albon

De Australische Grand Prix in Melbourne is al na negen rondjes stilgelegd door de wedstrijdleiding. De start van de race was zeer spectaculair met twee Safety Car-fases en meerdere positiewisselingen aan de kop van het veld. Een crash van Williams-coureur Alexander Albon zorgde voor een code rood.

Albon crashte fors in bocht 7 van het circuit van Albert Park. De Thai stapte ongedeerd uit zijn auto, maar er lag veel troep op de baan en waarschijnlijk is ook de bandenstapel te beschadigd geraakt. De rode vlag is een voordeel voor wedstrijdleider Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen rijdt momenteel op de derde plek.
