Domenicali hint op verhogen entry fee nieuwe teams

Het is algemeen bekend dat de populariteit van de Formule 1 in de afgelopen jaren flink is gestegen. De groeiende populariteit is niet alleen merkbaar naast de baan, ook vanuit commercieel oogpunt is er veel interesse in de sport. Stefano Domenicali merkt dit en hint op een verhoging van de entry fee voor nieuwe teams.

Door de toenemende populariteit van de Formule 1 tonen veel partijen interesse in deelname aan de koningsklasse van de autosport. Autosportfederatie FIA opende eerder dit jaar een proces waarbij mogelijke nieuwe teams zich kunnen aanmelden. Andretti en Cadillac kwamen al snel met een gezamenlijk bid, andere partijen hebben zich nog niet officieel gemeld.

Momenteel moet een nieuw team een eenmalige entry fee van 200 miljoen dollar betalen. De huidige teams riepen eerder al op om dit bedrag te verhogen. Formule 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali lijkt hier nu ook op te hinten, hij sprak zich uit in een meeting met investeerders: "Op het moment dat we deze regels opstelden hadden we niet verwacht dat de waarde van de business zo zou stijgen. De hedendaagse situatie is vanzelfsprekend heel erg anders. Get proces voor nieuwe teams is al in gang gezet door de FIA. Volgens het Concorde Agreement is dat mogelijk."

      die 2 hebben maar weinig met elkaar te maken. Teams hebben ook standaard recht op 35 miljoen uit de prijzenpot, op deze manier zorg je ervoor dat een nieuw team de zaakjes zelf gewoon goed voor elkaar heeft en niet alleen uit de F1 ruif komt eten.

    Beetje bij beetje word de sport verder kapot gemaakt. Men zou eigenlijk nieuwe teams een kans moeten geven in de vorm van ze betalen 50
    Miljoen en als ze het eerste jaar punten scoren krijgen ze 25 miljoen terug. Zitten ze na 3 jaar nog steeds in de F1 dan krijgen ze de resterende 25 miljoen. Op die manier beloon je tenminste ipv afstraffen.

      Eens. De 107% regel is er al om beschamende deelnames te straffen. Misschien zelfs even aanschroeven maar 106 of 105%.

      Een van de mooie dingen van Indycar. Juncos Hollinger dat weinig geld heeft ten aanzien van de Andretti/Penskes/Ganassi/Mclarens en toch top 10s weten te scoren.

      Oke is makkelijker met een standaard chassisregelement... maar Haas heeft al lang aangetoond dat hun semi standaard model redelijk werkt in F1.

      Ik zou t wel leuk vinden als er 2 teams bij komen en de helft van Alpine of Mercedes afnemen... vervolgens gaan voor high downforce of lowdownforce en dan op een paar circuits erg weten te verrassen.

    Met dank als teams zoals Mercedes en Red Bull die te veel vingers in de pap hebben… , bang om hun jaarlijkse deel van 40 miljoen te moeten missen of te zien verminderen… (elk team krijgt sowieso 40 miljoen om mee te doen (als je minstens 3 jaar mee doet) , met een nieuw team wordt dat over 3 jaar minder… (vanaf het moment dat het nieuwe team mee doet.. )… van teams zoals Williams en Haas kan ik het nog begrijpen… maar Mercedes en Red Bull ?
