McLaren kondigt nieuw juniorenprogramma aan

Veel Formule 1-teams hebben vandaag de dag een opleidingsprogramma voor jonge coureurs. Het team van McLaren zette zich al langer in voor talentvolle coureurs en heeft vandaag de komst van een nieuw talentenprogramma aangekondigd. De Britse renstal heeft het McLaren Driver Development programma opgericht.

In een persbericht laat het team weten dat oud-coureur Emanuele Pirro de leiding heeft over het nieuwe programma. Momenteel zijn er volgens het team drie coureurs actief in het programma: Indycar-coureurs Pato O 'Ward en Alex Palou, ook Ugo Ugochukwu is toegevoegd aan het programma. Het programma is opgericht om jonge coureurs te helpen bij hun ontwikkeling van karter naar professionele coureur.

We are excited to announce the formation of the McLaren Driver Development programme.

The programme will support young drivers in their development from karting to professional racing driver with the aim of facilitating the progression of emerging talent into F1.
