Ferrari-teambaas: "Hard gewerkt aan ontwikkeling SF-23"

Ferrari kent de slechtste seizoensstart sinds jaren. De Scuderia scoorde tot op heden geen podia en scharrelde 26 punten bij elkaar en loopt al bijna 100 punten achter op Red Bull. In 2022 had de rode brigade na drie races 104 punten op teller en ging de renstal fier aan kop in beide kampioenschappen.

Voor Ferrari kwam de korte onderbreking van ongeveer vier weken goed uit. Volgens teamchef Frederic Vasseur hebben de teamleden hard gewerkt aan de huidige bolide.

"Het is bijna een maand geleden sinds de laatste Grand Prix en in die tijd hebben we in Maranello hard gewerkt aan de ontwikkeling van de SF-23, zowel wat betreft het verbeteren van het huidige autopakket als het vooruitgaan met de geplande updates die geleidelijk worden ingevoerd in de loop van de komende races."

De rijders zijn ondanks enkele Grand Prix flink aan de bak gegaan in Maranello om de wagen te verbereren. "Charles Leclerc en Carlos Sainz hebben hun rol gespeeld door in de simulator te werken en ons feedback te geven. In Australië hadden we al een stap voorwaarts gemaakt in termen van pure prestaties en voor Azerbeidzjan verwachten we van daaruit verder te gaan."

In 2022 waren Max Verstappen en Leclerc in gevecht om de zege op het Baku City Circuit. De Ferrari-coureur viel echter door motorproblemen uit en kreeg opnieuw een domper te verwerken na een eerdere uitvalbeurt in Barcelona.

Wat ook kan is dat 2 uit 3 voor Ferrari niet goed genoeg is, wat vorig jaar de verhouding was na 3 races. dacht ik.

Sinds 2016 steeds een andere winnaar en nog geen enkele Ferrari . . . misschien helpt dat? 😉
Hier kan van alles gebeuren - wagen liggen snel in de schroot, niet altijd door hun eigen fout.

Zoals steeds zijn de updates voorlopig nog onduidelijk bij Ferrari voorafgaand de race.
Veel veranderen houdt hier bijkomende risico's in met slechts 1 FP (free practice).
Zeker op een "groen" circuit dat snel evolueert maakt set up met beperkte tijd geen evidentie.

Bandenmanagement zal voor hen de belangrijkste focus hebben met 2x Q, en een korte en gewone R.
Verwacht wordt dat ze met het huidig pakket en de data van vorige races heel hard aan het werk zijn gegaan om zoveel mogelijk performantie te halen voor dit circuit. De grote update komt in Barcelona en wat kleinere voordien. Niettemin blijf ik uitkijken naar die nieuwe documenten van de FIA omtrent updates.

Slechtste seizoenstart sinds jaren? Mwaaaa…. 2021 & 2022 waren ook niet best hoor.

Eigenlijk dus best een normale start van een seizoen voor Ferrari.

Overwinningen zijn tot nu toe verdeeld over Red Bull en Mercedes. En nooit de zelfde rijder. Het moet dus Russell worden, aangezien Perez, Verstappen en Hamilton er al hebben gewonnen.
Stats vertellen altijd de waarheid.
