FIA past procedure staande herstarts aan na chaos in Australië

Autosportfederatie FIA heeft vlak voor de start van de Sprint van vandaag de regels aangepast omtrent de herstarts. Deze wijziging is doorgevoerd naar aanleiding van de zeer chaotische Australische Grand Prix van begin deze maand. De procedure omtrent de staande herstart ziet er nu volledige anders uit.

In Australië moesten de coureurs tweemaal een staande herstart uitvoeren. De tweede staande herstart zorgde voor zeer veel chaos. Meerdere coureurs crashten en de wedstrijdleiding had veel tijd nodig om tot een uitslag van de Grand Prix te komen. De kritiek op de wedstrijdleiding was niet mals en na de driver's briefing heeft men de regels aangepast.

Signalen

Wedstrijdleider Niels Wittich heeft vanochtend een nieuwe versie van de event notes doorgestuurd naar de teams. Hierin is onder punt 23 een grote aanpassing doorgevoerd. De procedure bij een staande herstart is volledig aangepast. De wedstrijdleider geeft nu bij 10, 5 3, 2 en 1 minuten een signaal voordat de race weer wordt herstart. Bij het twee minuten signaal verlaten de gelapte auto's de pitlane om hun rondje achterstand weg te poetsen, na dit rondje sluiten ze weer aan in de pits.

Safety Car

Zodra het licht aan het einde van de pitlane op groen springt, zal de procedure er ook weer anders uit zien dan in Australië. Op dat moment zal de Safety Car de pitlane verlaten, maar blijven de coureurs nog eventjes staan. Na een halve minuut komen ook de coureurs de baan op. Ze zullen naar de grid gaan rijden en zo mogen elkaar dan niet inhalen. Zodra alle coureurs op de grid staan, wordt de race hervat met een staande start.

  Het onderwerp werd vrijdag lang besproken bij de drivers' briefing, ook omdat er een vrees is voor een herhaling in Baku aangezien het stratencircuit al regelmatig voor safety cars en rode vlaggen heeft gezorgd.
  Het probleem daarbij is dat de FIA haar eigen sportieve regels gedurende een raceweekend niet kan aanpassen. Maar op basis van een suggestie van Fernando Alonso werd er een andere procedure overwogen.

  De FIA laat weten dat deze aanpassing een 'tijdelijke maatregel' is en is voornemens om met de teams en het FOM te kijken naar een permanente wijziging van deze regels om het probleem op te lossen.
  
  "Samenwerking met de coureurs en alle belanghebbenden is een prioriteit voor de FIA en tijdens de briefing van vrijdag werd eraan herinnerd dat er een open uitnodiging blijft voor vertegenwoordiging van de coureurs in de regelgevende processen, waaronder de Sporting Advisory Committees en de vergaderingen van de Circuit Commission", aldus de FIA.

  de safety car bepaald nu niet meer het tempo, dus kunnen ze de banden nu op temperatuur krijgen wat in australie niet het geval was.

  is een rollende start veel beter; kunnen de coureurs ook hun banden fatsoenlijk opwarmen.

  De vermaledijde FIA komt met een doekje voor het bloeden @Pietje, met een beetje blabla blijven ze toch de voorkeur geven aan het spektakel boven de veiligheid en het beperken van schade.
  
  Gelukkig is dit slechts een tijdelijke maatregel. Zie hierboven...

  Enige dat je oplost is de ronde achterstand.
  Al ben ik van menkng dat dit niet moet doen.
  Lees hamilton maakt fout en daarna ronde achterstand. Door rode vlag was het zelfs zk fat hij achter max weer stond.

Nieuwe procedure op een rijtje...

De procedure van de staande herstart na een rode vlag ziet er als volgt uit:
1. Signaal 10 minuten tot herstart.
2. Signaal 5 minuten tot herstart.
3. Signaal 3 minuten tot herstart.
4. Signaal 2 minuten tot herstart, waarbij gelapte auto's de pitstraat verlaten, een ronde rijden en achteraan aansluiten in de pitstraat.
5. Signaal 1 minuut tot herstart.
6. Signaal 15 seconden tot herstart.
7. Vrijgave pit exit, waarna de safety car de pitstraat zal verlaten met de lampen aan, waarna deze na een seconde worden gedoofd.
8. 30 seconden na vertrek van de safety car uit de pitstraat, verlaten de coureurs de pitstraat zonder elkaar in te halen.
9. Staande start procedure.
