Autosportfederatie FIA moest zich vorige week bij de stewards melden na een bizar moment aan het einde van de Azerbeidzjaanse Grand Prix. Esteban Ocon maakte daar een pitstop in de laatste ronde, maar hij kwam in de pitlane allerlei fotografen tegen. Voor de Grand Prix van Miami heeft de FIA ingrepen.

Uit de documenten van de FIA blijkt namelijk dat men een aantal maatregelen heeft genomen. Aan het document met de procedures voor na de race, zijn een aantal punten toegevoegd. Teammedewerkers mogen zich pas naar het parc ferme begeven als alle coureurs over de finish zijn gekomen. Dit geldt ook voor andere personeel en VIPs. Als iemand de regels overtreedt, wordt de pas waarmee men de pitlane kan betreden afgepakt voor aanstaande races.

Deze FIA regel bestond al en worden al werelwijd toegepast in alle officiële FIA circuits en evenementen.
