Krack wil niet wennen aan podiumplaatsen: "Met beide benen op de grond blijven staan"

Het team van Aston Martin is verrassend sterk aan het huidige Formule 1-seizoen begonnen. Fernando Alonso eindigde voor de renstal viermaal als derde in de eerste vijf Grands Prix. Bij Aston Martin is men zeer blij met de huidige resultaten, maar ze willen niet te vroeg juichen. Teambaas Mike Krack wil de podiumscores niet als iets normaals gaan zien.

Aston Martin staat momenteel tweede in het constructeurskampioenschap met 102 punten. Dit komt vooral door de podiumplaatsen van Alonso, de Spaanse tweevoudig wereldkampioen staat derde in het wereldkampioenschap met 75 punten. Het is zijn eerste seizoen in dienst van Aston Martin en het is vooralsnog een groot succes.

Aston Martin-teambaas Mike Krack wil echter nog niet te vroeg juichen. De teambaas wil nog niet wennen aan het podium, hij wijst naar de gevaren hiervan. Krack wordt geciteerd door Motorsportweek: "Nee, nee we moeten met beide benen op de grond blijven staan. Je moet een podiumfinish nooit als iets normaals gaan zien. Je moet hard werken voor een podiumplaats. Je hebt enorm sterke tegenstanders in de Formule 1. Als je niet op honderd procent presteert op alle gebieden, dan scoor je helemaal geen podium."
